sentencing in voter fraud

Well said Pete! Quite a bit of that "t.a.r.p. " money is just setting around in D.C. collecting dust. I say locate a few areas that are desperately in need of an economic "leg up" and build a federal holding facility, staff it with trained local people and fill it with idiots just like those in Indiana who are a cancer to this country and what it stands for. I don't care what level of government you are. And ten years is just about right!  (Sunday | post #4)

sentencing in voter fraud

On Monday, June 17th, those who were convicted of voter fraud in neighboring Indiana in the 2008 election will be sentenced. What are your thoughts? Slap on the wrists, "hammer time"? What would you have given them if you were the judge?  (Sunday Jun 16 | post #1)

George; Please believe me when I say I am neither a republican, democrat, independent or libertarian. For quite some time, I have looked closely at the person and issues to make any decisions on who or what I support and I have noticed a disturbing trend the last decade or so. When one political party presents "documented facts, figures, dates, certified records and sworn testimony" as part of their point/argument and another party presents "opinions, hearsay, generalities and diversions" as theirs, well, I think even you can figure that one out, can't you? Government belongs to the people and <is the business of taking care and protecting those who put them there in the first place>, period! The sooner we stop treating government like our favorite professional baseball or football team the better. Stop rooting for them and start hold them accountable!  (Sunday Jun 16 | post #25)

You can't get them to change. I just had an acquaintance victimized by the same bunch he supported last November. He yelled and screamed and wondered how he got shafted after supporting the same bunch for years? Simple, he had nothing to offer them currently! Either you serve a purpose and get preferential treatment or take a seat on the lower end of the food chain. What goes around comes around!  (Saturday Jun 15 | post #131)

You're right. But there have always been an ample supply of "coat holders" who let others do what they should be doing.  (Friday Jun 14 | post #129)

First, I am not acquainted with the principal. And I believe there is more than one there anyway. I think you have me confused with someone else?  (Sunday Jun 9 | post #2)

Over the years, most of the bullying and intimidation I've witnessed locally was dished out to those who let it be dished out to them. I am not (and never will be) one of them. And if and when the day comes I feel I am done an injustice, rest assured, I will take the issue as far as I can for remedy. That includes the state, federal and civil courts. Generally when corrupt governments feel comfortable, that's when they make their biggest mistakes and wind up paying the price for their arrogance. As I've stated before, federal prisons are full of basically three types of inmates; attorneys, financial executives and politicians. All thought they were above the law and smarter than the law.  (Sunday Jun 9 | post #127)

Can you be specific? Was it enough to obtain legal council?  (Saturday Jun 8 | post #125)

Obvious6; Change? Absolutely not. Like horses in a burning barn, they know nothing else and will stand there until the barn goes up in flames around them. And I too share in the responsibility of not taking a stand sooner. I'm afraid it is factually too late to turn it around. We are destined to watch our county (as well as our beloved country) decay into a wasteland. Only then can we start over. It's like watching an alcoholic reach bottom. Until that moment, he/she will continue to believe there is no problem or minimize the problem altogether. As for the rest of us, hang on if you can.  (Saturday Jun 8 | post #124)

Oh yea, just one more thing. While you're looking at the markers, try to convince yourself that you are not part of the problem. Good luck!  (Saturday Jun 1 | post #10)

The final days of this madness where this great nation that was founded on "Of the people, by the people and for the people" is just around the corner. Even now the dollar has practically no value, our word to our allies has no credibility and our character's are determined by how good our attorney's are is in sight now. What happen to our home? If you want to see what may be the greatest waste ever, go to the veteran's cemetery over in Mounds and take a good look at the rows of markers.  (Saturday Jun 1 | post #9)

Kudos to Alexander Co. S.O.

Isn't every agency required to submit U.T.C. Reports (UTC) to the D.O.J.? And if A.C.S.O. is, then they should be retrievable?  (Saturday Jun 1 | post #10)

I would like to think that but the truth is a lot simpler. For the most part, the people of Alexander County know nothing else but what they have grown up with. And to be a part of a change would be too much of a shock to their systems. The change would have to be a gradual one to show them there is life out there. They just don't have it in them!  (Saturday Jun 1 | post #121)
