Festival of faiths: Events aim to honor religious diversity
I went, and it was pretty cool! See a picture of the Aztec dancers: http://flickr.com/ photos/gnarlodious /4024455164/sizes/ o/ Unfortunately some exhibition burned so much incense I felt sick and had to leave early. It seemed like every religion was represented except for Roman Catholic. Wonder why. (Oct 18, 2009 | post #6)
Should Victoria Mora make a public applogy?
You people got no respect for local culture. (Oct 17, 2009 | post #4)
Festival of faiths: Events aim to honor religious diversity
Free? Who is paying for it? Taxpayers? And how do the atheists feel about that? (Oct 17, 2009 | post #1)
Not true. there are WAY more homeless in other places, like Denver for example. Many more scruffy panhandlers, and more demanding too. In the last 15 years the police have gone a long ways getting rid of homeless people, and those sleeping in cars. Why do you think the jail is halfway to Madrid? So they can toss you out at 1 in the morning in the middle of nowhere freezing your @ss off. Now THAT's Santa Fe hospitality! (Oct 17, 2009 | post #18)
Some homeless bum with an old computer gets prime real estate on the front page? Must be a slow news day! Isn't that picture sort of an invasion of privacy? But seriously, 10 years ago you never saw all these homeless people panhandling on intersections. This is a social ill, reflecting the drastic division between rich and poor we now have. And many of us are only four steps from homelessness. (Oct 17, 2009 | post #10)

Milk and Honey: The tipping point
You can tip anyone, not just waitstaff. Pizza delivery, trash pickup. The vendor at the Farmer's Market. In some places, its the only way to get things done. Like the middle east. You could even call tipping Legalized Optional Bribery. (Oct 14, 2009 | post #2)
Los Alamos woman aquitted in death of husband
You can't just throw everyone you want in prison. Someone has to put the brakes on this policy of building prisons and finding criminals to fill them with. (Oct 13, 2009 | post #10)

I tried to go the first day, Saturday and was turned away. Seems that it was not really the pumpkin Festival but rather a concert costing $40 (plus $5 to park). I think it was intentional false advertising to drum up attendees, because this Horse Park owner has a long history of mercenary activity. I am surprised Hutton Broadcasting threw themselves into it so heartily. (Oct 12, 2009 | post #5)
In-groups grumble over more Indian casinos
It reminds me of "It's a Beautiful Life", where the town is full of saloons, pawnshops and poverty. All these casinos are symptomatic of a get while the gettin's good society. (Oct 11, 2009 | post #4)
Five-time offender says interlock helps him stay sober
Its only a matter of time before it will be mandatory factory installed equipment. Law enforcement would turn it on remotely. (Oct 10, 2009 | post #1)
