To answer your charge that I am a Bible thumping whoo-ha, yes I read the Bible, study the Bible and have taught about the Bible. This has absolutly nothing to do with the facts here. You are the only one who is continually bringing up the Bible, are you feeling guilty about something. It is beyond me where you get your information, and why you believe the way you do. To claim it is worse for a male teacher to have sex with a female student is worse than the reverse is absurd. It is the same crime, and needs to be punished with extreme predjudice equally. While it is true not all students (male or female) are damaged by an encounter such as this, it does not make the behavior right. The adult in the situation has the unique responsibility to ensure they do not cross the line and they DO NOT HAVE SEX WITH STUDENTS. Regardless of the excuse the scum sucking predator comes up with, they are in the wrong, they are performing a criminal act, they need to go to jail and never teach again. As for my opinion net being supported by fact, all you need to do is research psycology. While the effects may not be immediate, a relationship like this does have devastating effects on some participants. The effects may not show up for some time, but they include trust issues, relationship issues, lack of self esteem, poor self image. The victims will blame themselves. The list goes on. Any child who has been a victim of a pedephile can have any of these symptoms show up ant any time in their life. That is why it is wrong. Teachers (or any adults for that matter) SHOULD NEVER HAVE SEX WITH A CHILD OR TEENAGER. There is no reason to, it is illegal, immorale and just plain wrong. You say a 14yo is not looking for a relationship, you are way off. Teenage life is all about relationships and being part of the crowd. Sitting with someone can be perceived as being part of a relationship in the teenage world. A kiss to many teenagers (espically a shy one) is love, what do you imagine sexual contact is to a teen. I am with you 10000%. Parents need to teach their kids manners. Sir and Maam are not old fashened. Holding the doors for others at the store is expected. Being polite is not an option. Please and thank-you are part of the vocublary. My pet peeve is responding to invitations, let them know if you are going or not. RSVP means to respond with acceptance or regrets, dont just assume. My kids are definately not perfect, and I don't expect them to be, but it is great to hear how well behaved or good they are. (Friday Aug 15 | post #23)

My advice to parents, as your kids get older, 1. Listen to them and keep the lines of communication open. Talk with your kids about nothing, but talk. 2. Remember talking is two(or more) way, and everyone needs to be envolved. 3. Don't be afraid to say NO to your kids, and don't believe "everybody else....." 4. Following rules goes for everybody, including you. 5. Get to know your kids teachers, they probably spend more time with them than you do. 6. Get to know their friends, invite them to dinner or out with the family. Talk to them too. 7. Don't give your kids everything they want, you will spiol them. 8. Do give them what they need; Love, support and understanding. Remember like us our kids are not perfect. They will make wrong decisions, have poor judgement and outright screw up. The trust is, the fact the teachers are entrusted with the care of our youth. You continually post about the teachers looks, if the teacher was fat and ugly would it then be wrong? What is your cut off age for teacher student sexual relations? Reguardless of the gender of the teacher and/or the gender of the student, it is wrong legally and morally. Any person who uses their position of power to gain sexual favors is wrong. The teacher is an adult, in a position of power and influence over the student, and needs to be able to control their own sex drive. You state this is what "Healthy Secular Minded male youth dream of." While I am not familiar with any study on this, I will assume your statement to be true. You pointed out this is dreamed of. Dreams are not reality and should not always be acted on. Young adults have many dreams that the can not act upon alone, and should not be enabled to by an adult. Most 14 year old young adults have neither the experience to contol, or the ability to make a rational choice when the hormones kick in. (this goes for males and females). If it feels good, do it is not the way to act. There are concequences to every action. It is our responsibility as adults to help our kids make the correct and responsible choices. Teachers are part of this equation. They should not have sex with the students. We(most rational and normal adults) would not tolerate a teacher giving our child alcohol or drugs to overcome shyness, we would not permit a teacher allowing our child to drive their car at the age of 14 because the student dreamed of and desired it, why would we allow them to have sex with them? We should not, and can not allow it. It effects all students differently, but it effects them all in some way. If you believe there is a physical attraction between an adult and minor you are warped. The attraction is control not sex. What adult in their right mind wants to enter a relationship with an akward pubecent child. There is no connection there. Mentally, physically and emotionally they are on two different levels. The adult controls the child for his or her own needs, the child believes they are in a relationship with someone who loves them. The outcome is disaster. As for calling me a "Bible thumping whoo-ha", your premis is skewed there. In this thread I never brought up the Bible. That is your assault tactic. This has nothing to do with my faith. This does have to do with protecting children. We need to punish the teachers who commit the predatory acts, and punish them severely. This is not about an adult female having sex with a underaged male, it is about a betrayal of trust. The teacher is an adult and a professional, and as such needs to manage their actions with a certain degree of decorum. This includes (but is not limited to) NOT HAVING SEX WITH ANY STUDENT. A teacher having sex with any student (male or female) should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. A normal twenty-something teacher will not find a teenage student sexy or erotic. This teacher above is a predator and tried to use an excuse to explain away her sickening, warped behavior. Whether the teacher is male or female it is wrong and illegal. The student can not consent. Even if the student was 18 and a senior in the school it is wrong and violates the rules of most if not all school districts. Just because the students have a sex drive does not mean the teachers need to provide the driving instruction. We would not tolerate a police officer, doctor or other official using their position to get into our childres pants, why should we tolerate the teacher doing this. If the state or country decided to lower the age of consent, it would still be wrong for a teacher to betray the trust of a student. It is not natural for an adult to be attracted to a 14 year old teen. I do not know how you can even justify this in your mind. What age should a 'kid' get a cell phone?
My son got a cell phone when he started working, it was pre-paid and he has to add the minutes to keep it going. My daughter wants a phone, I let her know when she starts working, she can get one. I will not let them get a plan, because I hear the horror stories of the $500.00 phone bill because of the down loads. My son is almost 18 now, and after having a pre-paid phone for over two years he is ready for a regular phone plan, he has been looking for one that will be less than adding minutes to his phone. Kids do not need cell phones, when the drive and go to work it is fine, but they do not need them in school or while out playing. I have had 7 ferrets over my adult life, and I love them. They are playful, and get along with other animals. My dogs loved them, and the cats well we are lucky the cats tolerate us. I loved Jericho, but CBS pulled it and put on a bunch or crap. I also watch Family Guy, Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune, Law and Order and PBS'Antiques Roadshow. Since we got rid of cable, our choices are limited. The TV at my house is generally on, even if there is nothing to watch, but I am part of the TV generation. It was even worse than that, no medium rare burgers, the only eggs you could get were scrambled. The state decided they needed to protect us from ourselves. Beyond food they severly restricted firearm sales, to include bb guns (yes in NJ you need a firearms permit to purchase a Red Ryder BB gun). They have full auto inspections thet if you MIL (check engine light) is on you automatically fail and need to go to a shop and pay $75+ to find out your gas cap is loose. You can't pump your own gas, as it is a safety hazard, but the 15 year old kid is a professional. NJ will be the first communist state (mabey second following CA) that is why I left. There are inconsiderate dog and cat owners out there. As for the fact a cat covers up its crap, it does not cover up the spray from a male cat when it is marking its territory. That just stinks. My neighbors threw out two kitten last week. The one kept trying to get into our house and eventually ripped a hole in the screen to get in (I have never had a dog do that). The kitten was dropped off at the pound. It wasn't the cats fault, but now I need to replace a screen. As for your statement dogs are notorious for attacking and being destructive, that is a bad owner too. I have had dogs (and cats) my entire life and never had a dog attack anyone. There were several pranks we pulled in the military. One of my favorites was spraying pepper spray in the defroster vents of the trucks on a cold night. When the defroster was turned on the spray went throughout the truck. We also did the basics like moving all the furniture out of a dorm room, changing locks on doors, putting saran wrap over the women's toilet bowl(but under the seat) a real mess, and a lot more. The best prank was when we had a party and some drunk crashed it. He was rude and crude. He got so drunk he passed out, a couple of the women at the party put make up, eye shadow, mascara, lipstick (the works) on him, the did up his hair in rubber bands, and a friend and I dropped him off in a day room. The reason this was the best prank is the next morning my best friend (Who had to leave the party early because of work)informed me at breakfast the guy who crashed the party came in to chow hall all dolled up wearing make up and his hair up. Nobody sat with him or told him what was up. I guess he just got up and went to breakfast, never washed up or looked in the mirror. I wonder what his roommate thought when he got home.
