MichaelJ, you likely had the correct decision maker who was looking to push some REOs. In most cases, there are three people min. in a deal. The mandate to the seller, which is you in this case. The inermediary who puts the deal together and the buyer's rep. More then likly the seller's mandate will have one or two people pushing the product and the buyer's rep. will find the deal through a broker which increase the "chain" to 5 or 6 and thus waters down the split.
