Your thoughts on tonights debate?
Yeah, I don't envy the next president one bit. I have a theory that given our current econmic situation, the next president is doomed to go down in history as being ineffective. Our situation isn't one that I feel can be turned around in 4 years. I also feel a sense of peace in finding a candidate I am proud to back. The only thing that still irks me is the media's refusal to give equal time and mention of ALL the candidates. Even though I've already decided on my candidate, I still want to know what the others are saying. I want to be informed on all levels, and it'd be great if an unbiased media actually existed... Vote Barr/Root'08. I don't think Obama or McCain would be very benefical for our country. Each have made promises that neither can really keep, especially since BOTH voted in favor of Bush's BS Bailout plan. That plan seems pretty un-patriotic if you ask me. People shouldn't believe in someone who doesn't even stand for our country's patriotism - true. McCain pulling out of Michigan
I have to say I take great offense to your comment that a vote for a 3rd party is throwing it away. I'd say voting for the lesser of two evils for the sake of keeping the greater evil out of office would be throwing my vote away. I will vote third party because I believe in my heart of hearts it is the right thing to do. I have researched the candidates and have considered how their values will affect our nation. I will vote for the candidate who I feel will best serve this country. I refuse to believe that because the press only concentrates on two candidates that my choices are limited to those two. I would recommend that everybody does the necessary research when deciding who will receive their vote. Don't rely on the debates just what the local press reports.
