That was a fairly fast moving line of storms that came out of the northwest. When I first noticed it on the radar, it looked like it might even pass north of Holland. As long as there are parents around who believe that those they disapprove of deserve to be beat up, this will continue. The adult bigots teach their chldren by example to behave in this manner and will never tach them otherwise. This will end up being another case of "preaching to the choir". Yes, they do think they can "get away with it" and they do in most cases. This is taking place in a worldwide environment that also includes the sale of children in some parts of the world. Distributing the images is small potatoes compared with those selling children. It's quicker, easier, and safer than selling the children. (7 hrs ago | post #19)

Trying to stop the trade in child pornography would be like trying to stop illegal drugs by arresting users and pushers. With drugs, law enforcement targets the distributors because that is the only means that is even remotely effective. And that doesn't stop drugs, which have a definite physically defined distribution. Many of the child porn images most likely have been in circulation for many years making tracking almost impossible. And the distribution is much quicker and more efficient via the internet than actually physically moving drugs. Couple that with all the jurisdictions encompassed by that distribution, and even the best of the computer experts available would most likely only be able to track a miniscule amount to the original scource. And in the meantime, while they track down even one image, millions more copies can be distributed. All that the investigators can do is arrest the people in posession of these images. That's the EPA rating. Complaints from drivers to the contrary, EPA ratings are low for anyone who actually drives in a manner that will get the best gas mileage. My 1991 Chevrolet S-10 and my 1998 GMC Sonoma pickups were both rated by the EPA at 27 mpg highway. Both pickups consistently got over 33 mpg on a trip. In fact, more then once I got 26 mpg driving locally! Incidentally, the S-10 was still attaining this mileage just prior to being totalled with 142K miles on it. The Sonoma stll gets that mileage with 116K miles on it. (7 hrs ago | post #58)

Hi canadagirl. According to the weathermen last night, it should be an almost perfect day for garage sales, cooler (low 80s) andlower humidity. Good morning, folks. A/C is off. I'm anticipating a beautiful day and it's already sunny. The weatherman last night was saying it's upposed to be a little cooler (low 80s) and lower hmidity. It sounds good to me! Fans and fresh air. I don't know, Bean. Why would you? LOL It sounds like we still have the walking wounded in our little group. I'm glad that brace is helping, Barbus.
