NARTH: Forced Therapy Is "Unethical and Unworkable"

You're still Gay, you just choose to be sex-negative and self-loathing.  (Saturday | post #45)

The only place with any constituency for Polygamy is Utah and it's suburbs. This is not an issue even desired outside of Mormon country  (Saturday | post #681)

Gay Is Not The New Black But Gay Rights Are Civil Rights

WHen did the age of consent laws change? I'll bet dollars to donuts that these laws date from when these states were conservative. Remember, Massachusetts is the original location for the Blue Laws  (Saturday | post #679)

Gay Is Not The New Black But Gay Rights Are Civil Rights

How is this relevant? I bet there isn't a single case of this happening. The law is most likely a relic from the 18th Century, and the legislature has just not bothered to repeal it  (Saturday | post #678)

Gay Is Not The New Black But Gay Rights Are Civil Rights

Indiana is a Red state through and through. The only times in the past century they have voted for the democrat candidate in a Presendential Election are 1912 (Teddy Roosevelt's Bull Moose Party split the GOP and gave the election to Wilson); 1932 and 1936 (FDR and the depression); 1964 (the Goldwater debacle); and 2008 (the Bush-2 aftermath). Odds are that Obama will loose the Hoosier state in 2012 no matter how well he does  (Saturday | post #677)

Vt. judge: Birth mom must give child to ex-partner

Marriage is a fundamental civil right (Loving v Virginia). Any restriction on it must serve a compelling state interest. Courts or Legislatures have ruled that excluding same sex couples fails this test in HI, AK, VT, MA, NJ, CA, CT, IA, NH, DC, OR, ME. In NJ, CT and VT, the legislature tried to use separate but unequal Civil Unions to meet this requirement. This has been corrected in CT (by court and legislature) and VT (corrected by legislature). The NJ legislature to date lacks the courage to correct their mistake. Sadly, voters overturned the wisdom of the courts and legislatures in HI, AK, CA, OR, and ME. They will undo this error in the next few years, unless Federal courts intervene first  (Friday | post #382)

You're not the only person challenged to provide a source for questionable statistics. If you didn't make them up (which I think you did), then you must have a reliable source. The fact that you don't want to share that source says volumes about your veracity.  (Friday Jan 1 | post #233)

Vt. judge: Birth mom must give child to ex-partner

God had nothing to do with it. It was a sexist culture that treated women as property, and the men writing the Bible missed God's message completely on this topic.  (Friday Jan 1 | post #230)

The voters have repeatedly returned the legislatures in VT, MA and rejected the constitutional convention in CT. There is nothing forced on the people. Also, your logic implies that same sex couples are not people and do not have rights. Can i suggest you join the 21st century?  (Friday Jan 1 | post #229)

Vt. judge: Birth mom must give child to ex-partner

We live in a republic, not a democracy. The people have their say every two years in November. Also: people are ruled by laws, so the will of the people is irrelevant vis a vis society  (Friday Jan 1 | post #227)

Citation please. I think you made up these numbers. If these really are correct, then why aren't you lobbying the legislature to require a marriage license to get a birth certificate, and take away children from any person who gets pregnant without a license? I'm sure the foster care system can handle the small uptick in cases.  (Friday Jan 1 | post #225)

This has nothing to do with sexual orientation. This is Virginia honoring a legitimate family court order from Vermont, in accord with law. The christianista mother is trying to change a contract long after the fact, a contract to which she agreed. She is being treated on the same terms as if this was a conflict between two conservative Christians.  (Friday Jan 1 | post #223)

Your name is accurate. Miller and Jenkins lived in a Civil Union, which was created in Vermont in 1999 because the legislature didn't have the honesty to follow the VT Supreme Court ruling that same sex couples are entitled to the legal protections of marriage, and th VT high court didn't have the balls to declare separate as unequal. In 10 years, we have learned that Civil Unions do not provide the legal equality they claim. The CU should be consigned to the trash heap of history, and let's have one legal status for all couples  (Friday Jan 1 | post #218)
