There were not so fun parts of that life also, but when I think of seeing sunrise in Manila Harbor on a cruise ship, flying into what was then Saigon on Air America to visit dad through cleared airspace (THAT was wild) and hearing Howitzers going off that night at the Blair House...many many other stories...I'm so happy my father did what he did. Vets, Soldiers and Army Brats Welcomed!
Hello there. I'm an Army brat, have lived or visited pretty much everywhere, thanks to my late father. He sacrificed a lot during his Army career to show my mother, sisters and I the world. I'd love to talk to other military brats, veterans and current soldiers on this thread about anything that has to do with the lives we have had. My dad was someone who looked for opportunities in the Army to go outside the US, so we lived in Germany, India and The Philippines and visited loads of other places. Sometimes I still wish I lived in the same town all my life, never had to lose friends or change schools, and then I think back on how awesome it was to see the Pyramids of Giza, have lunch on a houseboat in Hong King Harbor, fly into Keflavik Iceland while a volcano was erupting a few miles off the coast...and so many other wild and wonderful things, and I'm glad I got to live the life I have. Your arguments are tired and illogical. You can't have it both ways. Either the woman's rights prevail or you invent some and ascribe them to the goo and say it trumps her rights. Murder applies to people who actually exist outside the woman who is pregnant, so your lies continue to be shot down. Unless you give up your goo loving ways and join the vast majority of the rest of America, you'll continue to be wrong. You can't have it both ways, you either want to protect a living breathing woman and help her living, breathing family or you want to protect a wad of tissue that has no rights and make it superior to the woman and her family. 1. Abortion is not murder, legally or morally, unless you're someone who just doesn't like facts. 2. Whether one beieves in their version of an imaginary friend or deity or not, abuse of women and children is wrong, and it's illegal. Your desire to do that was ended in 1973 with regard to freedom of reproductive choice, so why are you still arguing about it when PL organizations don't even do that anymore? LIP, I'm a father and a grandfather, so my baby making days are gone, and now I can send the grandkids back to mommy and daddy when I am done having fun with them. I love kids, always have. I also love and respect women, and I respect them enough to know that in this situation, either their rights are trampled on or the "gob of goo" and since the "gob of goo" has no sentience or rights, I'll side with the woman and her family every single time, as does the law since 1973. On the death penalty, you can't unkill the actual, living, breathing innocent person the state just murdered in the case of putting the wrong one to death. This happens and should never happen at all. Most coutries acknowledge that killing someone for killing someone is wrong, and faulty, and no longer do so. Why do people who claim to be "pro life" only care about "gobs of goo" and not the folks here, right now, being mistreated, victimized, abused and murdered? (20 hrs ago | post #24889)

So true. Also, I'm not sure why they are so timid when it comes to answering straight questions, but they are. Ask any one of them which they favor - the woman's basic human rights or the rights of the insensate tissue inside of them, see if you get a straight "I favor the zygote/embryo/fetu s" answer. They can't have it both ways, they have to make a choice, it's one or the other. Ask any one of them how forcing women to give birth is safer and more family friendly when anyone who can read knows forcing unwanted children into homes creates a certain amount of child abuse and also adds financial pain to already overburdened households, and ask them since this is a fact why don't they care, even if only one person is adversely affected? Ask them why they knowingly quote from faked PL information and how this can be considered "morally right" when they are well aware they are lying? Ask them why when they are repeatedly asked for the information from their bibles (those books they go by that are ridiculously altered from the original document) that shows abortion is murder they cannot find anything but insist their beliefs are bible based anyway? They won't answer, not truthfully and without loads of waffling, lies and insults. How is ignoring women's rights, ignoring the law, lying, waffling and misreading their bibles intentionally to back up their failed argument "morally right"? (20 hrs ago | post #24887)
