Intelligent Design Book Delivers Blow to Darwin

I will add that trace fossils increase in complexity and diversity throughout the Ediacaran...soft-b odied critters may not often leave fossils, but they do leave traces... You continue to "invent" your own version of geology!!!  (16 hrs ago | post #85)

Except, of course, for sponges, now known to date back more than 600 million years, and proto-arthropods dating from the Ediacaran, and the fact that "everything else in the Cambrian" did NOT "show up" at the same time, etc., etc., etc....  (16 hrs ago | post #84)

YOU still don't "get it"... Geology, that is... You have made it clear that you don't know much of geology and the fossil record!  (23 hrs ago | post #74)

Small changes lead to big ones; it just takes time. "Ring Species" are precisely that...changes in the genetic code forming an entirely new species. You are familiar with the definition of "species "? It sound like you are trying to change the meaning... Look at whale fossils...4-legged animals with whale skulls; animals with very similar skulls, but virtually useless legs; and more modern whales with remnant leg bones... You are seeing "macro change" right there...  (Tuesday Nov 24 | post #18440)

The whole population changes over time little by little...there is no sudden change that has to show up simultaneously among several males and females... You're not understanding the basics, here... An isolated population changes over time...the average individual grows taller...or shorter; claws are longer, or disappear, color changes, etc. After many years of such "drift", the overall population looks much different compared to individuals of years before... AND they look much different from other populations of the same original species elsewhere, who changed in different ways, or changed very little. "Ring Species" are a good example of the process; read up on them... The fossil record is heavily biased toward organisms with hard parts. "Seashells " in particular, given their environment; Vertebrates, with their bone structures (including Dinosaurs!); and many plants have fairly substantial structures...but many don't. Much evolutionary progress...first life; first cell, first complex organism.... happened before organic hard parts were present. That's a fact...  (Tuesday Nov 24 | post #18362)

Of course it's reliable; it's not absolutely accurate... Send 30 people out to measure the distance to the next town with yardsticks; you'll get 30 answers... Someone will miscount (6 miles!); someone will mis-measure (1 mile!); most will fall around a certain value (3.2, 3.1, 2.9 miles)... None will be exact...but you're still certain that the next town is about 3 miles away! And...in addition, we know that the Earth is old for related reasons; certain elements have decayed away...the Earth has to be at least a certain age (4 billion years plus!) for that to happen; and, again, if all the radioactive decay had happened in a few thousand years, we definitely wouldn't be here. Even the heat generated by carbonate formation would be fatal to Earth, if it had happened over a few million or thousand years...  (Tuesday Nov 24 | post #927)

Wrong... the fossil record includes fascinating transitional organisms that would be meaningless in an "ID" or "creative " hypothesis. No need for a whale with functional legs with "ID"!  (Monday Nov 23 | post #18348)

There are hundred of thousands of technicians, etc., who use these processes (radiometric dating, etc.) every day... They certainly DO act as scientists...thous ands of bits of discovery every day, millions of pieces of data over the years... And...if they DON'T count in your summation...think how little YOUR opinion means!!!  (Monday Nov 23 | post #818)

If decays rates were much higher, we'd still be glowing... Just the heat generated by the amount of lithified carbonate is more than the Earth could take...over a few thousand year period! Sorry... every piece of data points to an ancient Earth.  (Monday Nov 23 | post #814)

Sheesh! Dembski is such a hypocritical low-life... Oh well... it will be good "ammunition " to use against him:)  (Monday Nov 23 | post #2)
