Read the DHS report dumbass. Sure they back pedaled and distanced themselves from it, but they put it out none the less. And you will have a hard time finding where I have posted anything personally negative about the POTUS. I can still disagree with his policies, right (Monday Jul 6 | post #67)

And just so we're clear, Chuck Grassley pays a premium for his health care, as does every other Federal Employee, except those military members and their families that live more than 50 miles from a major military post. (Monday Jul 6 | post #142)

Statements like this are what is wrong with the old guard of the Republican Party. 20 even 10 years ago, this logic would have never crossed Chuck's mind. I won't be voting for you again, Chuck. (Monday Jul 6 | post #141)

Oh and Alcee Hastings was impeached for taking bribes while sitting on the bench. That's a guy, who writes legislation with no ulterior agenda, right... Florida gets what they pay for every time. (Monday Jul 6 | post #44)

They have already classified your fellow Marines, Soldiers, Sailors and Airmen returning from the battlefield as potential 'domestic terrorists'. How your ok with that is beyond me. On a different note, the handwriting is on the wall for America. As we take a hard left and throw our hand into cold war style, Western European Socialism, Western Europe is taking a hard right. They are cutting taxes, getting rid of their versions of 'cap and trade', and the rumblings of a new trading currency will come to fruition. An economic shift in power is already occurring turning towards Europe. What logically follows is military shift in power. This is the change we wanted? I think not. 2010 gonna be interesting (Monday Jul 6 | post #43)

Oh, and everything worth having comes with risk. You and your husband certainly made some risky decisions in your lifetime to better yourselves and take care of yor family and be in the position you are currently in. That is what sets us as Americans apart from other quasi socialist countries in my estimation. (May 28, 2009 | post #198)

And I'm asking you to look at where it's working IN SPITE of the recession The currrent system is broken. It needs to be fixed. Whether it's a hybrid of private/government or straight private investing, the government cannot sustain it's current spending on Social Security and Medicare. I would consider me, you, your husband, SRJ, et al, to be average American citizens. We have been educated or have learned through processes that we need to take care of ourselves and our own. Don't you think that a majority of Americans fall into that category? I do. Remember, I am all for a Social saftey net for those that truly need it, but that is not the majority of Americans (May 28, 2009 | post #197)

My point is that your doing it. SRJ is doing it. I'm doing it, and we're all doing very well, little to no debt, living our lives and helping out our families, etc. So if the three of us were raised to do these things, or took responsibility to do these things what's wrong with the majority of the rest of the middle class and upper class (Warren Buffet takes part in Social Security and Medicare). Obviously, there are elderly and indigent that can't take care of themselves. I'm all for a reasoned, well planned social service, my only point is that as it is- it won't last. As for me disgusting you NY, or your thinking that I'm a 'republican jerk' (registered as an independent and consider my self a conservative first)doesn't really bother me. The fact that you won't even consider a compromise in the investing of the payroll taxes, speaks volumes. (May 27, 2009 | post #192)

Why won't investing privately work? It has been proven to work. Take a look at the employees of Galveston, Brazorio and Matagordo counties in TX. That is 10s of thousands of people. It's your opinion that it won't work (May 27, 2009 | post #187)
