I don't understand how he is a sex offender. Search for him online in one of those gov't registries... he has 4 convictions for battery... 2 on someone under 14. So he's an offender... but there was nothing about anything sexual. Granted, battery is a crime... but if you beat up someone underage, do they just call it a "sexual assault" also? I don't think Ron Paul would get rid of those programs and departments on day 1 and just keep the money that people have paid into them. Clearly anyone who has worked and paid to be dependent on these programs should be entitled to their money, just that new workers should be given the choice to opt out. (Jan 31, 2008 | post #344)

just that not everything that it can do is explicitly mentioned by the Constitution. " this is where we disagree. I fully believe that the Constitution is the only thing which gave gov't it's powers. also, the nec and proper and commerce clauses have been used and abused significantly by those wanting to expand the powers of gov't to do things that I truly believe it was never intended to do. The advocates of such new powers obviously point to these 2 clauses and respond that of course the founders would be okay with such-and-such new power, that's exactly why they put in these 2 clauses. But read the clauses as well as the accompanying writings (anti federalist papers, etc).... then read some of the court cases and see what sort of B.S. has been "justified " by these clauses. Of course neither side is "settled fact", but nevertheless this is the side I am firmly on. how can you justify depriving someone else of a gun just because YOU think they are a "supremacist " or a "crazy"? Whoever gets to control the criterion for applying either label will be able to deprive ANYONE of a gun just by putting them into these categories. i.e.: your will lose your right to own a gun WITHOUT due process.
