This is truly funny. I have been an atheist all my life. I have no fear of God, Jesus, Muhammad, Allah, Zeus, Hades, or any other religious icon. Yet somehow I have managed to not commit any felonies or misdemeanors. I follow the laws set down in this country. I don't have the urge to kill, or steal, or cheat - yet I have secluded myself from religion. Wow, you really don't need religion, do you? The fear of a sky daddies retribution is just control over the weak minded. We aren't all taught that if no one see's you do something wrong that "God" is watching. Many of us don't need that threat to be decent humans. I don't care if you want to be religious, it's your choice. Your fear of consequences debate is typical. Think for yourself, not because a man appointed by a man tells you God is watching. "What if that dread of future consequences were taken away?" Well, things would stay pretty much the same. From "Society Without God" by Zuckerman p. 6 - “…their overall rates of violent crime – such as murder, aggravated assault, and rape – are among the lowest on earth. Yet the majority of Danes and Swedes do not believe that God is “up there,” keeping diligent tabs on their behavior… In fact, most Danes and Swedes don’t even believe in the very notion of “sin.” Almost nobody in Denmark and Sweden believes that the Bible is divine in origin. I never said you supported Jones. I asked you a question, man are you stupid. You did marginalize the atrocity Jones was responsible for. Here is what you wrote: "PS,Jim jones ran a tiny cult that killed hundruds.". You totally marginalize the lives Jones took and apologize for him. Jones' cult was "tiny" compared to Islam. SO WHAT! Jones killed in the name of Christianity, radical Islam kills in the name of Muhammad. You hold Christianity in higher regard. Both religions are evil. You totally miss the point. Islam is the current "death cult", in the past, it was Christianity. Both religions are responsible for the death of millions of people. In the course of human history, Christianity is easily the most violent religion, despite the teachings of Christ. I obviously know more about religion than you or Amp Man. It is the knowledge I have gained from reading the texts of religions that has made me an atheist. If you actually read my posts, you will see, especially in the last several posts, that I denounce the wrongs of radical Muslims. You are blind to the atrocities committed by your faith.
