Would "U" volunteer for community project?

Joe and Wes, If we were to have a volunteer fair, where people could come and see what projects and organizations are available in the commUnity. Invite Community, Church, Governmental, School and Tribal Organizations. Invite all the above Organizations to display projects they are working on and have planned for the Future.  (Jul 27, 2008 | post #3)

Tribal Trust Land

Wes, I feel that everyone should be considered in Kinross Twp. Renters and Owners alike contribute to the commUnity, as do tribal and non-tribal! At the meet the candidate, Herman stated that he was working on tribal homeowners contributing to the tax base. Perhaps if the tribal members felt as if they were a wanted group, they may express to the tribal board their concerns and Kinross Twp. might receive some more assistance.  (Jul 27, 2008 | post #2)

Putting the U back in CommUnity

Here it is after the primary meet the candidate. there were a lot of talk about how we need to become a kinder and gentler community. So I thought I would being up this discussion item back to the top of the pile. Perhaps we can knock around ideas to strength our commUnity. I will go first!!! If every member of our commUnity Volunteered in one group or project, we could do anything!!  (Jul 26, 2008 | post #3)

Is it a violation of something to use a generator

So, you want to live off the grid? Along with the concerns Pat stated, you have the safety issue. Power must be disconnected, so there is no chance of fed back. Your home must be rewired to get the power where you need it You don't want power cord running everywhere.  (Jun 9, 2008 | post #6)

I Pledge to not accept Board health insurance

Disgusted, Herman, has brought a lot to light on township activities and would be a great addition to the board. At the next board meeting the board will possibility do away with the health insurance and give themselves a raise. The health insurance and the raises are issues that Herman will be on the front line..making sure the board does the right thing. I am running again and think that the monies will be better used on other things. Hope to see you in and an important member of this process.  (May 11, 2008 | post #10)

I PLEDGE on getting a Township Manager

Pat, What a manager would do is to make sure the boards motions, resolutions. The manager would have experience in finance, personnel issues and grants that the board may not have. Many times the board doesn't have the time or interest, leaving the departments heads to decide the meaning. The board would have on person to go too. When the board changes, there would be continuity, projects and issues could be explained to board members. Pat, there are many other things the manager could do for the Township whole.  (May 11, 2008 | post #3)

I PLEDGE on getting a Township Manager

Now that this board has all but done away with board health insurance, perhaps we should look at a Township Manager or Superintendent!!  (May 10, 2008 | post #1)

I Pledge to not accept Board health insurance

Since I voted to get rid of board health insurance in 2004, and I have insurance already.... What go would do to say that I would accept it? So, it is my understanding that the above individual will not accept payment for not taking health insurance?  (May 10, 2008 | post #5)

Community Assessment by LSSU Students

The Community assessment report was very interesting with the student reporting on topic like transportation, housing and business out look of our communiity. It was nice to see a young persons out look from the outside in. The downside was there were only four board members and four ambulance employees on hand.  (Apr 25, 2008 | post #2)
