Those who are bad mouthing Melton need to get a clue. If you like the guy or not he has served this community for over 20 years taking murders and idiots off the street. How many of you can say that? Yeah, yeah, he knew what the job was before he started but it takes special people to be cops and this guy was a good one. What I cant believe is Christesen is running on the "Anti-Good Ole Boy" slogan. Please, the man has been a Good Ole Boy since the Davidson days. Dont believe his hype. Stop being racist. The state and county officers go south to help on calls and meet this type of racisim all the time. The residents down south call when they are victims and want help right now. They pay taxes and want police service which is understandable. However, if an officer goes down and wants to talk to that same "victim" under other circumstances, they are flat out told that they are on a sovereign nation and dont have to talk to them. You cant have it both ways. Years ago a Deputy was assaulted on a family fight call at DZ. The suspect was charged with hitting a Police Officer but the charge was dropped later because the Courts said the deputy had no Jurisdiction there and therefore was not considered a police officer on the Rez. Can you blame them for not wanting to go on calls out there?  (Friday Nov 20 | post #34)

Its a no win situation. If a cop pulls over anyone other than white they are called racist. If they pull over a white then they are anti-white. If a Native American Cop pulls over a Native American they are called a traitor. Get over it people. Wow, and you try and lecture Whats Up on his opinion then express one just as slanted. Everyone has their own opinion but you seem to think you are the only one that should express theirs. I have only one thing to say. You dont even know who's running yet but you already are professing your support for one? That appears a little close minded to me. Wait until March of next year then there should be a few more names in the mix. Research all of them, talk to the men and women who work at the Sheriff's Office and see what they think, then make an informed decision. Agreed, Christensen should never be considered for this job or rather voted into the job. I am not suprised about no one else having anounced their running yet, dont they normally do it around January? We should all wait and see who runs.
