Dion - Ancient Macedonia's religious centre
Ilike it when you mention Eugene N Borza... Lets see what he has also said... "Modern Slavs, both Bulgarians and Macedonians, cannot establish a link with antiquity, as the Slavs entered the Balkans centuries after the demise of the ancient Macedonian kingdom. Only the most radical Slavic factions—mostly émi-grés in the United States, Canada, and Australia—even attempt to establish a connection to antiquity." "…the Macedonians are a newly emergent people in search of a past to help legitimize their precarious present as they attempt to establish their singular identity in a Slavic world dominated historically by Serbs and Bulgarians." "In order to survive the vicissitudes of Balkan history and politics, the Macedonians, who have had no history, need one. They reside in a territory once part of a famous ancient kingdom, which has borne the Macedonian name as a region ever since and was called ”Macedonia” for nearly half a century as part of Yugoslavia. And they speak a language now recognized by most linguists outside Bulgaria, Serbia, and Greece as a south Slavic language separate from Slovenian, Serbo-Croatian, and Bulgarian." "It is difficult to know whether an independent Macedonian state would have come into existence had Tito not recognized and supported the development of Macedonian ethnicity as part of his ethnically organized Yugoslavia. He did this as a counter to Bulgaria, which for centuries had a historical claim on the area as far west as Lake Ohrid and the present border of Albania." ...and more (Jun 26, 2008 | post #44)

Learn the difference between the "human rights" and the "minority rights" and we might have a conversation... You probably want to talk about minority right for which you have nothing to say, but you seem to change the sabject to human rights which is irrelevant... (Jun 26, 2008 | post #33)

We do not expect anyone from the Skopje ruling elite to answer this Question. We do not exp[ect you to answer this question. It seems that you too are capable of talking only about mothers, fathers, and wifes... Is it because you have your own "syndroms " with wifes and fathers? Do you miss them? "I believe they got the right answer"... what is the right answer for you then? with what would you agree? What answer would satisfy you? (Jun 26, 2008 | post #32)

which country will be the most powerful in 2050???
Ok, what I want to say is that I agree with you but despite the fact that Turkey has more money she also has more needs. Even if we had the same GDP as you do, we wouldn't buy that many weapons. You have more needs. As you said you have more soldiers, more lands, more more... This is why you need to spend more. You can't have the same number of rifles as Greece. You can't have the same C-130 as Greece. Since the difference on the GDP isn't proportional to that of the population and the needs, it is more difficult for Turkey. That is what I mean. I don't know if you agree... (Jun 20, 2008 | post #61)
WHO WILL WIN IN A WAR GREECE OR TURKEY
To Serkan: I see you gave a second thought on your answer... Anyway: 1. The byzantine empire kept more or less or tryed to preserve the regions it inherrited from the Roman empire... 2. Imia is Greek soil. It is one of the thousand "rocks" that Greece has all over the Aegean see. The story started when a turkish private helicopter landed on it and a reporter put the Turkish flag on the island. This is one of the "means" the Turkey has in order to create the so called "Grey zones"... 3. In 1974 the Army had control of the government in Greece. It was a jounda or whatever it is called in English... The "enosis" you are talking about might had been in the mind of some persons, but it could never be a reality. This was just an excuse... 4. After the population excanges a number of Greeks stayed in Turkey just like the Muslims in Thrace. The Pomaks increased their population and they live peacefully with the rest of the population just like they should be. I wonder why did the Greeks left Turkey??? 5. Just think... If we want to enter into the Turkish air space we'd have to cross the Aegean and reach the coasts of Turkey.(Almost enter in the mainland...). Why do almost all the dogfights take place above Greek Islands? I know that we enter in your airspace but only when we hunt you... 6. I am not a military exspert and you are not either I believe... I'm not ignorant, guys like you are who think they are the best on everything... 7. The only "provoking " is coming from you, and the reason is as I mentioned before, is your idea that you are the best... You base your power on numbers only. 8. "Turks will never be peaceful!!" yes, exactly my point. This is your nature and you can not be anything else. You can only be WARPIGS this is the only thruth. You leave from "war" and only for the "war". This is your best "art". 9. We are not proud just for "Alexandros o Megas" but for everything Greek. From 4000 years ago until now... I am proud because despite the "sh!t" that live around us, (north, east) we have managed to be whatever we are today... (Jun 20, 2008 | post #67)

Bakoyannis sends warning message to Macedonia
1. Salonika is Thessaloniki in French, 2. He didn't write that Macedonia is a state but that Macedonia seeks autonomy which is well known that the IMRO AND ITS BULGARIAN leaders were fighting for this in order to annex it to Bulgaria... 3.You shouldn't be comfused when you read the word Macedonia... It is not about you. 4.This text is a personnal opinion. We have talked about the IMRO many times and I think that it explains everything... ps... don't talk about "illiterate persons", when you are the worst in this forums... Keep your copy/paste thing... Bakoyannis sends warning message to Macedonia
Mostly true. I think that this is the case formost of the countries with a similar history as the Greeks. However, you have to take in account that there are millions of economic refuges in Greece. From Albania, Pakistan, Bulgaria, Scopje, Kurds, Egypt, China, Phillipines... I think that we like making things big. I think we are mostly xenophobic and not racists. (Jun 19, 2008 | post #15105)
WHO WILL WIN IN A WAR GREECE OR TURKEY
To "Serkan" You have a serious problems... You have illusions. You talk about the Greek media but you never talk about yours. The one making up stories were always the Turks. How did we start the 1996 crisis? How did we start the attack in Cyprus? What happened to the Greeks in Turkey? Why has its number dropped down to a few thousands? What is wrong with your planes? Greece never wanted a war. Greece never made an army for attacking except Alexander the Great. Tell us why would we create the 1996 crisis? or 1974? Why are you violating Greek airspace everyday? Is this one of your "peace" promotions? As I said we can easily stop one of your "full scale attacks". The "megolaman " as you said were always you... Is this a lie? Who has been always playing the "Great" the most powerfull, the great f@cker? It is you... Well you are not you are just some warbreed animals... I do not have illusions... You don't have to know everything as I don't know everything. One thing I hate is making up stories. The truth is the only way for understanding eachother. Sometimes it hurts but it is the TRUTH. Why should we always be those who make up things? You don't have much "credibility " yourselves... We know who you are... We know who your Generals are. You were never peacefull and you will never be. You are the smart guy and the one who is always right... lol, is that what they learn you about Smirni? You didn't even move? lol... You were always pigs and you will remain pigs...Warpigs. (Jun 19, 2008 | post #62)

which country will be the most powerful in 2050???
I wanted also to mention that a country like Turkey which has an army of about a million persons... has to have more lets say Armored Personnel Carriers, or Tanks, or C-130, or G-3(I don't know if you still use them), etc, compared to Greece who has an army of less than 200.000 men.(army=navy+air force+land forces) That is why Turkey ranks fourth or what ever. Though I do not no if this is true. Even the UK or France have an army of less than 300.000 nowdays. There ARE MORE THAN THREE COUNTRIES which are more powerfull than Turkey. There is the US, FRANCE, UK, INDIA, CHINA, RUSSIA, JAPAN, GERMANY, CANADA... Comparing armies doesn't have to do only with the size... (Jun 19, 2008 | post #57)
