Is Alexa Ray Joel's "homeopathic overdose" possible? [Terra Sig...

Here is my response to the article. No overdose is possible. Homeopathy is completely safe. The remedies work on the basis of resonance and response only to a matching pattern. They stimulate the body to heal through this vibration. If there is no matching energy pattern there is no effect. Like when you pluck a string on a violin, the same string will vibrate on another violin in the room. Alexa Ray Joel & #Homeopathy http://j.mp/6Y70xZ  (Saturday Dec 12 | post #4)

Alternatives sought to flu shots

It is very much appreciated that the news media are telling the story of people who take a different approach to wellness during this time of swine flu epidemic scare. There is an abundance of information in the media encouraging to take the vaccine, tamiflu and other drugs. There is little news for alternative approaches, yet people are seeking these healthy, natural ways to boost the immune system. It is surprising that Canada press has posted a this article considering that the government is now trying to condemn the alternatives, or at least lump all alternatives into one negative category. Although there is information circulating around the internet, it is a poor choice of new media to categorize 'homeopathy' along with taking vinegar as a similar form of treatment. India's government has instituted homeopathy as a specific national form of medicine due to its success. They are continuing scientific research into the best homeopathic remedies to use for swine flu and other influenza. See: http://www.cbc.ca/ health/story/2009/ 11/05/consumer-swi ne-flu-warnings.ht ml?ref=rss#socialc omments http://indianmedic ine.nic.in/ --Tricia Felber is determined to do whatever she can to protect her two young daughters from the H1N1 flu. --Her family follows a strict regimen of homeopathic remedies, eats plenty of fruits and vegetables, avoids sugar and strives for a proper night's sleep. --Felber will not, however, allow her children to be immunized. She has doubts about the H1N1 vaccine's safety and even whether it can fight the flu at all. Thanks to Tricia for speaking up and telling the world how she is going to care for her family.  (Nov 5, 2009 | post #1)

Homeopathy for depression: a systematic review of the research ...

Dear Sarika ~ You are absolutely correct. The word "depression " does not really describe and identify the exact personal experience and feelings of this state of being. That is precisely why a depressed person needs to speak to a professional to help understand through words what the mind and body are going through during this state of "depression " in their life. Alternative flu treatment offered locally

People will continue to purchase what works for them. They will discontinue purchasing any product that has no effect. "Homeopathy Works!" that's why it is sold out.  (Nov 5, 2009 | post #4)

Does Oscillococcinum Work for the Flu?

Try as people may to categorize homeopathy as a 'religion' or as 'unscientific' they can argue with themselves until they turn blue. When a person says I took a remedy and this is what happened, it may sound like anecdotal evidence. In the end, this is their experience. It is proof positive for them, as one individual. They will probably try it again to see if this improvement happens again. There is a connection made between cause and effect. Whether it is all in their minds, hearts or souls does not matter. Only one thing matters for sure. That is "Homeopathy Works" for them in their individual case.  (Nov 5, 2009 | post #24)

Alternative flu treatment offered locally

It is heartening to see that more reports of proponents of homeopathy in different areas of the country. I'm in agreement with Lonnie Warren's perspective that there is a natural way to strengthen the body's immune system through lifestyle, sunshine, rest, wholesome nutritional foods, some supplements like vitamin D, vitamin C, oregano oil, and elderberry juice, etc. Keeping a positive attitude, reduce fear and stress that puts the body and mind into a weakened position helps, too. We know for sure that the adjuvants in vaccination are toxins to the body and we will see the effects in the years to come. Using proper sanitation is a great improvement to reducing infectious disease. Those who are ill should stay home.  (Oct 21, 2009 | post #1)

Homeopathy for depression: a systematic review of the research ...

Thank you Dr Nancy for listing a few of the excellent available homeopathy remedies that specifically address depression. Most importantly, the individual requires a detailed interview to determine the unique characteristics and symptomatology that define "depression. "  (Sep 20, 2009 | post #3)

Homeopathy for depression: a systematic review of the research ...

I commend the authors of this meta-research study. Homeopathy is a system of medicine that can address all disorders, physical and mental. What this study: Homeopathy for depression: a systematic review of the research evidence. Export by: K. Pilkington, G. Kirkwood, H. Rampes, P. Fisher, J. Richardson brings to the forefront is that there are not enough journaled article reports to gather data. It is believed that homeopathy is applied based upon individualized repertorization of rubrics including many symptoms including physical pains and ailments, plus dreams, illusions, delusions, fears, moods, sensations and how environment and situations effect the individual. Most homeopaths take on the care of many patients, but do not publish their work, probably due to time and staff needs. They could probably use a support system of assistants, an easy form to upload information, and funding to get extra hands to help them write up reports and submit them. Funding could also be used to devise and carry out research studies and help gather potential patients. The authors deserve a round of applause for looking into this area of care beyond the 'clinical trials' and into outside sources. They have pointed out the need for more studies and definitive information to substantiate claims that we hold to be true. This author believes completely that homeopathy helps mental disorders, but I would also like to see data and reports on these matters. :::::::::::::::::: :::::::::: CONCLUSIONS: A comprehensive search for published and unpublished studies has demonstrated that the evidence for the effectiveness of homeopathy in depression is limited due to lack of clinical trials of high quality. Further research is required, and should include well-designed controlled studies with sufficient numbers of participants. Qualitative studies aimed at overcoming recruitment and other problems should precede further RCTs. Methodological options include the incorporation of preference arms or uncontrolled observational studies. The highly individualised nature of much homeopathic treatment and the specificity of response may require innovative methods of analysis of individual treatment response. Docs give out Tamiflu generously

Once again the main theme of this article is about Tamiflu and the hype over the swine flu and people wearing masks. The only mention of homeopathy was a photo image of some homeopaths dispensing remedies to those interested. All we got was a one-line caption -- "Alternative therapy? Homeopathic doctors are seated outside the swine flu testing unit, offering medication to those interested"  (Aug 28, 2009 | post #1)

Battle of the spreads: Margarine or butter?

Well, I have no idea who chooses what category to place these articles. How they put an article about people who prefer butter or margarine into the section on homeopathy. Ho hum. Okay. So, yes, have to admit that people who choose to use homeopathy and homeopathic remedies ARE DEFINITELY HEALTH CONSCIOUS. Agreed.  (Aug 28, 2009 | post #1)

PM: The World Health Organisation is warning against the use of...

Get a grip guys. This is so over the top it is ridiculous. And I quote: MARK COLVIN: The World Health Organization has put fringe medicine back in the spotlight. The WHO is warning against the use of homeopathy to treat some diseases, particularly in the developing world. LOOK WHAT THEY ARE CALLING FRINGE: Homeopathy has been a staple form of medicine for over 200 years. New India Press estimates that “about 500 million people rely on homeopathy treatment in the world. As a system of medicine, it draws support from hundreds of thousands of doctors, teaching institutions and universities where homeopathy is taught.” --Read this article: --THE WORST CRIME OF THE 20TH CENTURY --http://www.newsw ithviews.com/Dean/ carolyn29.htm It was responding to a group of concerned doctors and researchers who wrote to the WHO requesting that it clarify its position on homeopathic treatments. --The Voice of Sense about Science are a bunch of students. They are NOT doctors and have no authority to make claims, since they are not professionals in the field of homeopathic medicine. Earlier this year a Sydney couple were found guilty of the manslaughter of their daughter, who died after complications to do with eczema. --Very nice of him to raise up the story of one death that was not really due to homeopathic care. --We do not know all the factors that went into this little girl's death --We could point the finger at the massive deaths from the Medical System: The American Medical System Is The Leading Cause Of Death And Injury In The United States. --A definitive review and close reading of medical peer-review journals, and government health statistics shows that American medicine frequently causes more harm than good. --The number of people having in-hospital, adverse drug reactions (ADR) to prescribed medicine is 2.2 million. (1) Dr. Richard Besser, of the CDC , in 1995, said the number of unnecessary antibiotics prescribed annually for viral infections was 20 million. Dr. Besser, in 2003, now refers to tens of millions of unnecessary antibiotics. (2, 2a) -- The number of unnecessary medical and surgical procedures performed annually is 7.5 million. (3) The number of people exposed to unnecessary hospitalization annually is 8.9 million. (4) The total number of iatrogenic [induced inadvertently by a physician or surgeon or by medical treatment or diagnostic procedures] deaths is 783,936. --The 2001 heart disease annual death rate is 699,697; the annual cancer death rate is 553,251. (5) It is evident that the American medical system is the leading cause of death and injury in the United States. http://www.ourcivi lisation.com/medic ine/usamed.htm There is much more to the article. All I can tell you is that Homeopathy is a viable form of medicine under the direction of a proficient and skilled practitioner.  (Aug 28, 2009 | post #1)
