Heller, Levine on road to victory in San Rafael council race
What I'll say is there were problems at the polling places. As a voter and citizen I had the right to inspect the polls and the master roster. I was denied on several visits to exercise my lawfull rights. I stood up for Democracy. Some people complained about me exercising my rights. That is a real problem. (Friday Nov 6 | post #7)
San Rafael public-safety bond needs more votes to win
I started my campaign against G on July 24th at the special City Council meeting. My comments are on the public record. I'd like to thank the voters for seeing the flaws. I'll be back. Special Interests lost this time. David Mayer (Friday Nov 6 | post #93)

Vote for David Mayer. I studied this issue and it is poorly researched by those who favor it. No G Tuesday. (Monday Nov 2 | post #1)

Let's play connect the dots. San Rafael is nearing bankrupcty with only $3Million in reserves. More State cuts are coming. Boro and his allies have been in power too long. Boro is also Head of GGB. Another financiall disaster. The politicians blame it on the economy. They never seem to understand that we have cycles. Up and down. So when it is up they spend away and whenit is down, they tax us more. Go figure (Saturday Oct 31 | post #44)

Activist slinging mud again in San Rafael race
The City leases space now across the street. The perfect investor as in most commercial rela estate and this is potentially commercial, is life insurance companies and pension funds. They would love the staedy returns unlike investments in stocks. I have the expereince in the Real Estate industry. This can be done. But only if we effect a regime change in San Rafael. (Saturday Oct 31 | post #31)
I am not an incumbent. I oppose G. (Saturday Oct 31 | post #12)
I have called for real campaign reform that limits expenditures for council races. The fact that upwards of $40,000 will be spent by some of my fellow candidates is absurd. These candidates will owe their allegiance to all the big donors, not the residents of San Rafael. My position and ballot statement are clear. Politics as usual means allegiance to the big PAC interests. I have accepted no contributions. PERIOD. Real reform will mean a $2000 limit in this race and ONLY your own money. I will spend less than $1000. I support the taxpayers and workers, no the entrenched special interests. Vote for Mayer and NO on G. (Saturday Oct 31 | post #9)
Congratulations to Girl Scout for your civic duty. I'll buy my cookies from you next year. Just call me. I'm in the phone book. But back to qualifications. As a CPA, (Inactive registration) a CRTP (Tax Preparer_ and CISA (Certified Information Security Auditor) I have 30 years of Financial Experience in the real world where you don't raise taxes and contributions but actually deliver a product or service and make money at it. I am the more qualified Candidate with experience as an activist in Planning matters in Petaluma and 8 years experience in Real Estate development. I understand the economics of residential, multi housing, industrial and commercial development. Development need not be a dirt word when done properly. (Saturday Oct 31 | post #8)
Ms Lenert's letter "Marc has worked with the Safe Passage Along Lucas Valley Road project in North San Rafael. He was one of only two candidates to actually show up for the Canal neighborhood candidates' forum in the south. " For all you home gamers out there, David Mayer was the other candidate. In the past 2.5 years I have attended city Council meetings and speaking on occaision, I never saw Mr Levine speak. On July 24th I spoke in opposition to Measure G. Marc was there but did not speak. Why not ? (Saturday Oct 31 | post #7)
How green is Barbara Heller ? 16 years on City Council and jumping on the green band wagon but where's the results ? As a part of Big Al's political machine, why do we not have bike racks in downtown San Rafael ? Why is there no designated parking for fuel efficeint motorcycles and scooters ? Simple answer is talk green but promote auto mobile use. (Saturday Oct 31 | post #6)
Greener leadership ? I guess my position on this has been ignored. I studied this and oppose it. PG&E has a goal of 25% green energy. They are at 14%. That is more than half way to the goal. Ironically what is delaying their efforts are "Surprise " other environmentalists who do not want transmission lines being built to deliver the geeen energy from the generation points. Nice try to slam me Lisa, but if you had paid real close attention to my viewpoints, you'd see I support green energy but not another local bureacracy which if it fails in it's mission will lose the taxpayer's money already funded by the County of Marin. And you want to enter into a contract with Shell Oil ? Not exactly a model of a green corporate agenda. Clean burning natural gas is an alternative to crude oil based products. T. Boone Pickens has a company (symbol CLNE Clean Energy Fuels Corp) which is promoting natural gas. Even Nancy Pelosi, a progessive green Democrat owns a large block of stock in CLNE in her last financial disclosures. CLNE did a major project with the City of Los Angeles to provide nat gas to run the garbage trucks. Gary Ford has agreed with me in the debates thatwe do not need another Enron type disaster.
