McCain-Palin Supporter: Obama a "commie faggot"
Heh.... and I bet you see blackhawk helecopters flying around your house and have been abducted by aliens too? Just watch the clips of McCain rallies and they are shouting this crap while McCain and Palin are talking....and everyone applauds it. This is what their campaign is left with as supporters....the dregs of the radical right, full of hate, racism and lies. (10 hrs ago | post #5)
McCain-Palin Supporter: Obama a "commie faggot"

BREAKING NEWS :: Conn. high court rules same-sex couples can marry
The real tyranny comes from the religious nuts like you that want to restrict rights and liberty. And you accomplish this by making us in the gay community the enemy to "family values". In the words of Plato: “When the tyrant has disposed of foreign enemies by conquest or treaty and there is nothing to fear from them, then he is always stirring up some war or other, in order that the people may require a leader.” (no surprise that quote also applies to our current President) (17 hrs ago | post #19)
Connecticut Legalizes Same-Sex Marriage!
Outstanding. Now we just wait for the Religious Right to put out the statement that the financial crisis is a result of rulings like this. (19 hrs ago | post #5)
Gay teen was goaded into suicide by jeering mob
As sad as this was, it just does not surprise me. Go to a concert, sporting event or any place where a large group gathers, drinks or is just looking for fun and see what happens. Mob mentality, the ultimate oxymoron. To quote Oscar Wilde: “The world is a stage, but the play is badly cast.” (Thursday | post #16)
Did Palin Flip-Flop on Gay Rights?
In this context, I would have to agree. No offense to other people from Alaska, but considering she rarely traveled out of state while mayor and on limited trips as Governor, it is safe to assume her views of the rest of the country may not be accurate. One problem with religious people, and my best friend is mormon and I see it routinely with him, is that they try and "insulate " themselves from the "evils of our society". He has no cable tv, his kids are exposed to only what he wants to see and thus he is oblivious to many different types of people out there. I sent him articles (many linked from topix threads too) and most of the time he will not respond because he does not know how too.... And I can see Palin as the same person. A true culture shock when she realized that the USA is not just bible belt 'joe 6-packs' and such.... Can we expect her to understand the consequences of her actions? Not as long as she has campaign managers telling her what to say and how to take criticisms. (Thursday | post #15)
US Supreme Court rejects cases on gay lifestyle books in classr...
Of course they rejected it. It is a no brainier. Their freedom of religion right allows them to not read it just as much as the author has a right to write it under the same freedoms granted by the Constitution. What they are trying to do us usurp everyone's freedom to access this book based on their own views. And any court would see thru that. (Thursday | post #6)
Did Palin Flip-Flop on Gay Rights?
She got backed into a corner in the debate by Biden and is now just doing damage control. As with most fundies, she will say one thing to your face while saying the opposite at the pulpit. But this is a simple drop in the bucket of stupid things she has said. Olbermann was reporting last night that she will no long grant interviews to anyone other than Sean Hannity and Greta Van Susteren... enough said there. (Thursday | post #5)
Arkansas judges oppose proposed foster, adoption ban
Pull you head out of your ass... The judicial system was set up for this very thing. Why do you think there are preliminary hearings and evidence hearing for cases? Why do divorce courts hear every case about custody of children? Just look at the Three Strikes Law. You had people with three minor violations of law serving virtually life sentences due to MANDATORY sentencing laws while that same judge could sentence a murderer to 5 years in plea agreements. Hell, even cops have discretion when they stop people on weather to give a ticket, warning or arrest. And the grand f*ck up of the legal system: sex offender registration. The guy caught peeing in the park and charged for lewdness (even though the only person that saw him was a cop, no others) is punished on the same level as someone that molest 10 kids. So NO..blanket laws are not always the answer. Hence the symbol of the judicial system is a Lady Justice holding scales..... it's called BALANCE. (Wednesday Oct 8 | post #6)
Bolthouse Farms Has a Change of Heart
From Joe, My, God website on this: "From what I can see, Bolthouse Farms has done just about everything possible to correct a situation that was beyond their control. Kudos to them and to Lane Hudson. Punishing the company any further seems fruitless to me." If this was something beyond their control, then why punish them in the first place? Arkansas judges oppose proposed foster, adoption ban
Wow.... you mean to tell me that these judges actually have the child's best interest in mind and want to decide on a case by case basis? DAMN ACTIVIST JUDGES. How dare they use common sense and look past the prejudice of this measure. (wow... i can actually imitate right wing fundies pretty well) (Wednesday Oct 8 | post #1)
Market Watch Gets Their Talking Points from "Protect Marriage"
Sorry... second sentence should have concluded .... they take their points from Project Marriage, which is not an accurate statement. (Wednesday Oct 8 | post #5)
Market Watch Gets Their Talking Points from "Protect Marriage"
First, I am not condoning Market Watch for what they did, just setting the facts straight. In queerunity's blog, he states that MarketWatch wrote the article and also said that they . But at same time, anyone that reads it can plainly see that it is a release from Project Marriage. Now while this is a release from one side of the coin, the article also sites a CBS poll and what Project Marriage claims as the result of their efforts. In effect, it is a legitimate release that hit the wires. The article is factual in the first two paragraphs, but the third is where the distortion of fact lies.... The question is how does Market Watch screen these releases? And to be honest, I went to their website and simply cannot find the article. Had queerunity not proved a link, I doubt anyone else would have found it unless they were aware of it's existence. (Wednesday Oct 8 | post #4)
