Long Beach Measure T struggles in very early returns
I had a part time job from middle school ( Jr. High ) right to my high school graduation. Maybe it is time for the students to help out during this critical failure of our economy. Keep 80% for your own fun and games and give 20% to the schools to help during this Republican created disaster. Learn the importance of a good work ethic and help your education at the same time. Cut out a few concerts, movies and other luxuries like we adults are being forced to. My sincere good-luck to you all. (Wednesday Nov 4 | post #68)
Columbia Space Center in Downey set for lift-off
When they retire the incredible shuttles in a few years I certainly expect the Downey facility will receive one. Other than the Aerospace Museum on the Mall in D.C. there is no where else that deserves one more. (Oct 21, 2009 | post #9)
Marine protection fight is at crucial phase
BJH. It referes to the Jonestown mass suicide back in the late 1970's when Kool-Aid laced with arsenic was the method in killing hundreds of men, women and children. The psychotic Jim Jones was their leader and murderer. (Oct 19, 2009 | post #11)
Marine protection fight is at crucial phase
Oh how nice that Long Beach is sticking their nose into the marine preservation. It would be a lot better if they would follow their nose to the stagnant cesspool off our own coast and tear down that damn sea wall. You want to see a massive improvement in water quality fast and cheap. It would take about a week for nature to flush the Long Beach toilet and let the pathetic two headed fish be washed out to sea with the rest of the slime. (Oct 19, 2009 | post #6)
Long Beach wonders what the box office would be worth in landin...
Boy the "Schipske haters" are out in force today. Yes, Ms. Schipske is a councilwoman and she is also a resident and taxpayer in the City of Long Beach. She does have a right to her opinions and concerns. She is also the only truly honest and very hard working member of of the city government. Damn people give her a chance and go after DeLong, Foster and the rest of the crooks on our council who are too busy scheming and puffing smoke in the back rooms to even read the citizen's remarks in the PT. McCain trying again to scuttle Boeing C-17 funding
This old wind bag has only one claim to fame and that is being shot down in North Viet Nam. That means only one thing. He was a lousy pilot and lost a multi-million dollar aircraft. To bad he is not still rotting in his Commie cage. (Oct 2, 2009 | post #6)
Boeing C-17 clears major hurdle in Senate
With all the idiotic waste being paid for by Obama's "stimulus package" it is hard to fathom canceling this great aircraft and put a minimum of 30,000 more Americans out of work. You lost McCain. Go back to the home and shut up! (Oct 1, 2009 | post #10)

Ken Howard elected president of Screen Actors Guild
I sincerely hope Mr. Howard is more courteous and less pompous with Guild members than my dealings with this very rude and belligerent man. (Sep 25, 2009 | post #1)

Post office consolidations leave their mark on LB mail
So our postmark will show we are in Orange County. As a Liberal Democrat I resoundly protest such identification of my letters. (Sep 11, 2009 | post #7)

Tim Grobaty: Blue Cafe has been down - is it now out, too?
So sorry to hear this. Listened to some great bands there. Loved to sit outside and kick back with a cold brew and be entertained. A true loss for downtown. (Sep 9, 2009 | post #5)
