Congressmen at odds on health bill
And Obama has the audacity to tell the senate to "Take the baton and bring this effort to the finish line on behalf of the American people". Is he still smoking dope or what? Mr. President, the American people want this "reform" about as much as you and congress do and we'll sign up for it right after you all do. I have health care thank you very much and I certainly don't want you or Nancy or Harry or anyone else for that matter meddling in MY affairs! If you want to force your health care onto those who don't have any leave me out of it. You're not helping anyone but yourself; into the wallets of responsible citizens. By the way, those show biz folks and pro athletes are making way too much money and it's time to share the wealth. Go after them! (Monday Nov 9 | post #7)
Some with opinions like to remain in the dark
In Sunday's paper on the Opinion's Page under the heading "Let The People Speak" a Woodland resident responded to this opinion. It was on the same page as "recession in coffee cups" and "a week without profanity" which you will find online but oddly you will not find Mr. Defty's opinion of Mr. Smith's opinion of you. So what's your opinion of that? (Sunday Nov 8 | post #8)
Dems go back to the well for taxes
I agree with you 100%. I'm registered Rep who voted for Obama. Big mistake! Every politician who's been in office for more then 10 years must go. THEY are the problem. And don't just replace Dems with Reps and visa-versa. The Democratic Party AND the Republican Party must be neutered and voting in a third party would start the process. They have divided our nation against each other when We should be united against them. (Saturday Nov 7 | post #5)
EHS principal abruptly resigns
Are you still mad about EHS knocking you out of the playoffs a couple years ago? Let it go. But I will say this - East Nick, a town smaller then Esparto, supports their high school football a hellava lot more then Esparto. The EUSD support of the high school athletic program is pathetic. Mexico's Take Over Of California: Complete By 2014?
Why do the Mexicans flee their homeland like beat dogs and then fly the Mexican flag everywhere as if it's something to be proud of. Your looking pretty foolish. Let me share something with you. A long time ago the People of this land stood up against an unjust monarchy and established a government of the People, by the People, and for the People. Later, those People voted to become citizens of the United States of America, from sea to shinning sea. That being said ... What's taking you folks so long? Go save La Raza from the drug cartels and corruption. (Oct 16, 2009 | post #20571)
Some Latinos might boycott Census
I would have to disagree. The people of Mexico are smart enough to know that if they took the steps needed to reclaim their country from the politicians working for the drug cartels, We the People of the United States would support their cause. It's time to stop running away from your homes and families. Take all the energy and resources that have been built on your behalf in this country and save your land, your people, and your heritage in Mexico. We are waiting! (Oct 14, 2009 | post #29)
Tempest over a speech to our children
What's so historic about it? Clinton looked everyone in the eye, pointed that big finger, and lied: "I did not have sexual relations with that women". Now that was historic and it really did happen, remember? Bail outs, deficit, government motors that's historic too. (Sep 9, 2009 | post #9)
Latino health awareness festival planned locally
Having lived in Woodland for 40 years I see and read the "pleasures and benefits" of diversity all over town. "Anglo" I'd like to hear your response to "Woodlander " (Sep 3, 2009 | post #5)
Latino health awareness festival planned locally
I guess I can't go because I'm not Latino. That nice. So when's the Anglo-American Festival? And how to I contribute to the NAAWP? Who heads the White Caucus? Have you read any stories about hate crimes against white straight males? Who's racist? (Sep 2, 2009 | post #1)
Mexico just legalized possession of marijuana, cocaine, heroin, LSD, and meth. California Democrats want to legalize marijuana to help pay off their debts. Our president smoked weed and did cocaine. Wouldn't be great if you could buy a doobie at 7-11. Now that's what I call change man. You know what I'm saying. That's progressive change man. I mean if everybody in the whole world, you know what I'm saying, just sat down and burned a big fatty, you know what I'm saying, we wouldn't have any wars or nothing man. I mean, you know what I'm saying, if you got stoned with that Osama dude - that would be freaking cool man. That dude probably got the chronic bro, and we could all have 40 virgins, think about it. Immigration reform on hold for now
Mexican leaders should focus on cleaning up their country so it's citizens will want to stay. Mexico has the resources and people willing to make an honest living. Before Obama reforms our immigration laws he should enforce them. That would create many jobs. How can anyone say we need to reform immigration when we don't enforce the laws we have. Seems our immigration policy worked fine for many years and this nation prospered until we stopped enforcement. (Aug 23, 2009 | post #1)
Universal health care not answer
Could it be were talking apples and oranges here? Health care for all - apples. Insurance reform - oranges. Different problems need different solutions. I'm listening.... (Aug 20, 2009 | post #32)
Universal health care not answer
I live in the United States of America. I graduated high school long ago and have learned the lessons of life. I pay about $350/month for family coverage. I'm the sole provider for a family of six and I gross less then $75,000/year. I'm not rich and I have no friends. What I have is a wonderful wife and I've been blessed with four children. If you want health insurance you can get health insurance just don't screw with mine. (Aug 19, 2009 | post #26)
Fix U.S. healthcare to improve state's well being
This is how We the People lose. We are separated into groups, told the other group is a threat, and by the time we vote everyone is so **** off we miss the real problem - the two political parties that separated us. The fact is We the People are responsible for the government we have but we can forever change things in 2010. REMOVE DEMOCRATS AND REPUBLICANS FROM OFFICE! (Aug 17, 2009 | post #90)
Ugly initiative inflames debate on immigration
The United States of America is a very young nation compared to the rest of the world yet these "lazy fat westerners" have a utopia other folks, like in China, can only dream of. Strike that, we HAD a utopia until we let people from other countries change our society, our government, and our direction. (Aug 17, 2009 | post #29)
