About 10 years ago, an aunt of mine stuck a thermometer intented for taking a human's temperature into the piping hot bird. The glass shattered and beads of mercury went into the turkey. Not only did people find mercury in their turkey, one (un)lucky family member also found part of the themomerter glass with the numbers painted on it. (Nov 19, 2008 | post #2)
