Health Care - Cheshire, CT

Government needs to stay out of the private lives of Americans. For those who don't have a private life & r on welfare or public health care this may help somewhat, but these people need more than health ins. Most need a total care, which they were incapable to obtain in public schools. Build more prisons & insane asylums f them. That would keep hard working peoples $ where it is needed to build prisons & insane asylums where it would keep us all safe from the criminal insane.  (Friday Nov 13 | post #2)

In the Middle of the Night, the Cheshire murders: Helen Ubinas ...

The Cheshire Board of Ed should endorse this book as required reading for juniors & senoirs because it doesn't have much detail or swear words compared to the Kite Runner, Mice of Man and alot of books they had us read. I read this paperback with enthusiasum. Most teens in Cheshire swear, steal, drink, smoke and have sex. But after reading about Joshua it make one think how a teen can go down the wrong road 4 to long. No one plans to be caught up in crime 4 ever. Joshua will never be out in society again and justice will be served. But to censor a true story is communistic.  (Friday Nov 13 | post #887)

Book about Cheshire home invasion sparks complaint

Like I meantioned to Dr. Petit, everyone seems to hing onto what u have to say. Here it is again! Who the hell cares what ur holy self thinks what the Petit woman would approve of by u! Don't u know what a good arguement is all about. No one is killing anyone here, but urself. Cheshirelightsofho pe have moved there fundraisers away from the Christmas season & off rte. 10. That's what this whole arguement was about. Not talking about the dead or ur 2 cents, so stay out of it cause it's over and won. Carry onwards Christian soldier. Nice try.  (Saturday Nov 7 | post #12)

What does a case of azz mean anyway? Has a group of mourners joined a fundraiser in your town? Have they sold, assembled, and lite candle bags on your state owned road in your town on the eve of the Christmas hoilday? Have you had to explain to ur children what these candle bags r doing on the side of the roads? This sort of display need not be displayed in such a manner. A private park or on private property is more acceptable. Just because I didn't accept the past 2 years of a vigilance type fundraiser doesn't mean I'm against the fundraiser. To hit u back, I'll say "take ur persuasions & presumptions somewhere else and not spread lies about others, like me.  (Saturday Nov 7 | post #8)

Lights Of Hope Brighten Cheshire

The light of Jesus is life not death. This fundraiser "cheshireligh tofhope" is memorializing the murders. Selling candles bags that r assembled, placed, lite, then distract traffic, allude as if it is part of the Christmas decor, then have a two day street cleanup in bitter cold weather is not the light of Jesus, but a personal idea that has nothing to do with Christmas or Christ. There r cemetaries for mourners, personal grief ought not be a reason to censor books or use state own roads. It was a poor idea to have such a spectacular display paraded along the roadside at that time of year. So, this year it we not be on rte. 10 nor at Christmas time. Thank you Jesus!  (Sunday Nov 1 | post #34)

Book on Cheshire murders released tomorrow: Helen Ubinas | Note...

Is it right to sell it or to publish it or even think that if Joshua untied everyone while Steven left for the bank with Mrs. Petit and just went home? I believe the question should be "do u want to know what, how and why the murders happened"?  (Oct 18, 2009 | post #4)

That is as funny as Joshua leaving the house after untieing everyone, while steven had mrs. petit at the bank. When they return joshua is gone. Steven went nuts with gasoline just when joshua returned to warn him the cops were on their way. Get a life and stop calling other's fat.  (Oct 18, 2009 | post #10)

In the Middle of the Night, the Cheshire murders: Helen Ubinas ...

Great story of Joshua, especially that he was a teen here in Cheshire. Teens today aren't into setting fires, but definitely into sex, drugs and stealing for $. Hopefully, Cheshire teens will read this paperbook true story and realize how any one of them could get lost in sin and crime. It just may make them stop & think about how familar Joshua's life is to their own life. I was expecting more detail of what happened in side that house on July 22/23, 2007. But nevertheless it is quite interesting and so very true.  (Oct 14, 2009 | post #725)

Yes! Citizens can celebrate in keeping Christmas Holy without intrusion of any thought of the petits. I'm sure peace will be with all who r personaly or emotionaly connected. For me it's hopefully fresh fallen snow during a quiet peacefully Holy season without even children being told about what those luminaries are for or from. Amazing wonderous eyes of Christmas lights, santa claus, etc. Only on personal property and some business will display this as a reminder of hope for MS and the petits. Thank you! Like the terrorist among us that blend into our society, I may be seen standing byside and helping the Cheshirelightsofhope with one difference, I'm not a terrorist, just a concern citizen.  (Oct 9, 2009 | post #8)

Dear just another poster from meriden, ct, if u figure i'm not from cheshire because of my IPS, then neither r u! What business is it of urs if citizens of cheshire don't like, want or consider candles in bags paraded along a state own rte 10 a distraction to traffic and misrepresenting it as part of the Christmas decorations when it clearly a reminder, a vigil and marker of the petits. I personally don't care for that kind of subject matter as a public display. This fundraiser is not a state of CT public program or Federal holiday, it's a private charity started by the petit girl for her mom. It had gotten to the point of national recognition. So, anyone from anywhere can weigh in on this. So frankly, since your're not free to think outside of this box, what I say isn't really any of ur concern, but ur own ignorance.  (Oct 9, 2009 | post #7)

This is dedicated to burban who started this observance of the Cheshirelightsofhope's blancy of the concerns of Cheshirites who found the parade of candle bags along the gutters of rte. 10 on the eve of the Christmas season. You won ur complaint of having this charity move the lumanaries and time off rte 10. Congradulations! We all can enjoy the peaceful holiday decore with no interruption from the proud cheshirites  (Oct 9, 2009 | post #31)

Doxie, I'm with u on that. I can't understand how the same people who back the Cheshirelightsofho pe that memorializes, raises money and had been part of the Christmas decor along the gutters of rte. 10 & roads react with distain to this book that has a different perspective, when for years their candle bags were a constant reminder of the murders at Christmas. Supposely, criticism will end and peace will return as soon as these criminals are sentenced.  (Oct 3, 2009 | post #3)
