Now what I would like to know, is that on the off-chance the threat is real, why would you send students back into the building while it is still being cleared. Talk about a story of neglect, abuse, and many other things wrong in society. Neglect because she will have to neglect one, two, maybe even three of the others to care for the majority. Abuse because of the neglect. Honestly, let the state take the children and make sure they go to homes that CAN support them, don't let them sit and suffer in a home that CAN'T. 9/11 attacks, 7 years later

While I will always remember that day, where I was, what I was doing, I do feel it is time we moved on from this trajedy. The media every year plays the tapes and such. Do we really need to be reminded of the day that is burned in our hearts and souls. I say it is time we let the visions of that day rest in peace as hopefully all those who died that day are. Before anyone can question me on what I am saying, I was in Germany with the 1st Inf Div when it happened and I remember how crushed I was from not being able to do a damned thing to help in rescue ops, or anything. As for the military having the monopoly on automatic weapons, I was US Army, and I will tell you this, many of those serving today own firearms. They would fight to keep them as well. So do not try and tell me that a revolution would not work because of the so called monopoly the military has. The US would find its Armed Forces torn in two. Liquor clerk sentenced; parents unhappy

It is a shame they made the decision to drink and drive. Yes I feel sympathy for the parents for their loss, but I have no sympathy for them for the judgement. Now I remember about 10 years ago, they were going to pass a bill about bars and drunk driving accidents. That if the bar knowingly let the driver go and knew they were impaired the bar could be found liable for it. As a teen some 20 years ago, I remember how I used to get drunk all the time. It was rather easy to get my hands on the alcohol. Granted I never drove, nor would I drive if even I had only had 1 drink. It is stupid to drink and drive, and these teens proved it beyond a shadow of a doubt. Drinking + Driving = Death, maybe not in every circumstance, but all to often. But with the store being known to sell to minors in at least 50 cases, I am sorry but their liscence should be pulled.  (Sep 5, 2008 | post #50)

As for going for custody of my children, I am strapped for cash so badly. I usually wind up giving my food to my pregnant wife who is due in October so she and my unborn son get enough to eat. I realise that once I take my children I can get more help, but it is something that will take too long to do, and cost me valuable resources that I can not give up at this time. Yes, housing and utilities are part of supporting a child. I give you something though. CP has the children and asks the NCP for gas money each visit. Of which I have no issue doing. then CP goes and gives half of that to someone in jail into their account so they have money for their commisary. Person is in jail for possession with intent. Another part off the entire thing is that the CP lives off the state, recieveing food stamps, cash assistance and such. Says she can't get a job. Yet she is a certified medical assistant. Has a car, and everything. Her husband goes as far as trying to shoplift where I work. Now the state is forcing her to go for more money through FOC and the courts. I will not say I have it the worst out of everything. Hell I was raised by only my mother so I always have had respect for single mothers, especially those that don't get a lick of support from ex husbands. But there are those women that use the children for only one thing. I will not point fingers or name names, but I will tell you this, I am sick of the crap. FOC is swamped with cases of dead beats. I am not one of them, nor will I ever be, but with their income reviews and formulas, the entire system needs to be revamped.  (Aug 23, 2008 | post #1215)

I am a father who pays his support on-time, and even give extra when I can. What I want to know is, what does the state do if the woman, basically refuses to get a job, and lives off the state for everything. Child Support shouldn't be one sided as it is in my case. I worked for a Subway several years ago, back when it used to close at 2 AM. Issue isn't Subway per say, it is the owner of the Subway that should be held accountable. All Subways are franchise so it is the owner trying to save money by making one person close alone. Sad but true. As for the rasist comments, its sad. Some people like to keep stereo types going and then they wonder why it seems it keeps happening. If you say someone is a certain way, or in this case an ethnic group, that is all they are going to see. They won't see the good some people of any ethnic group, that isn't their own, has done or is doing. In this day and age, more and more people are becoming ignorant. No offence to any ethnic groups, but I have seen it isn't just the "white" ethnic group that sees this way. We just don't hear of "white", "latino" , or "asian" as often as "black". Not saying they are the worst ones, but the media seems to like to point their fingers at "blacks" more than any other ethnic group.  (Aug 11, 2008 | post #14)

I find it funny, we all read a tragic story about a man, who kills his ex wife, then himself. But what do people in here argue about, grammer, religion, and to what end? First off, my prayers and thoughts go out to both sides of the family that are tied to both of these two people. While some people may think that what the man did was horrible, has anyone ever stopped to think, that maybe something was wrong with him? Not all issues of the mind may be seen even in 20 years. Granted I do not condone what happened or think it was great or awesome, quite the opposite. What makes a man divorced for 20 years from his wife just up and do this. I am sorry if I offend either side of the family, but I ask, did he ever show any signs that he may be heading in a downward spiral? I am sorry again if it offended any one of either family, and I hope you find the peace you so deserve after something this horrible. I only ask these questions so maybe events of this nature can be avoided. We all have loved ones that may be in trouble, watch for the warnings, and get them help ASAP, otherwise it may be your family we read about next.  (Jul 21, 2008 | post #50)
