I just went to the verizon website and found out that you do not need a landline to have DSL. The one plan that I have is a prepaid plan through Walmart...they use the Verizon towers. You buy your phone then it is like $48 a month with taxes for unlimited talk, text and web. I have been using it for a few weeks and so far I am pretty happy with it. (Nov 5, 2009 | post #42)
I was real young when the tower was still there. The only thing I remember about it is walking up the steps and getting a splinter in my hand and the guy at the top took my splinter out and then gave me a deck of cards with a cat sleeping on them, I think I might still have them around here someplace. LOL And then later riding the train into Rockwood and the train stopped for a long time and my grandfather pulled his car up next to the train and taking me out the train window and him and I went to the bar until the train started running again...LOL (Oct 23, 2009 | post #2)
Not sure what type of pool table you are looking for, but I saw one at Kmart in Uniontown for $250.00 that is 7 foot and is a pool table and table tennis together. I have had a tracfone for a couple of years, sometimes in my house I can get 2 bars. If you do decide to purchase a tracfone go to their website and you can get a phone that doubles your minutes whenever you add airtime. Does anyone know how well the Boost Unlimited works in Confluence. I recently saw you can get that prepaid phone, pay $50.00 a month and have unlimited talk, chat, text. (Mar 23, 2009 | post #26)
I miss him so much. I know many of times he made a house call to our place, didn't matter what time it was he would even come in the middle of the night in his pajamas with his black bag. I remmeber 1 time we didn't have money to pay him and he told us just to give him some veggies from the garden. He was the best...too bad they don't make doctors like him anymore. I am looking for the book Confluence Centenial and any other books published about the Confluence area and surrounding areas. Would greatly appreciate it. I believe there was other books published about the Confluence area or areas near by. My grandfather had a bunch of them, we use to sit and read them together all the time, but when he passed the one family memeber took them all, and she didn't even live in this state. If you are talking about Roger...he is a resident at Stevanus' Personal Care home. It is run by Beverly NOT her mother. Her mother is the one who has been in and out of the hospital and she is also considered to be a resident there NOT the owner. (Nov 26, 2008 | post #29)
I found out a bit about his background.... When it happened it was not in this county, he met up with a woman who was a prostitute, he didn't understand that he had to pay her. When he didn't pay she claimed rape. He was never in trouble before that incident and has not been in any trouble since the incident which was about 15 to 20 years ago. He was to be taken off the website but the year he was to be taken off they passed the law that whoever is on it stays on it. I am not trying to take up for him, because I also am one of the many people who sees him all the time hitchiking, but I keep driving. I just wanted to share information about him.
