Iowa woman files lawsuit over deadly crash
I'm not well versed in the situation of this accident. But, I would say, if she crossed the center line, how can the driver be at fault? (Jul 22, 2009 | post #4)
WHICH LARGE FLEET WOULD YOU NOT MISS ON THE ROAD?
Why not include YRC or Old Dominion? I think this poll is biased against truckload carriers. (Feb 9, 2009 | post #3)
Clarksville, Ind. officer shoots, wounds suspect
I saw that cop car in the crash on I-65. It didn't, from the looks of the condition of the squad, look as though the officer survived that crash. I'm glad it didn't turn out to be as serious as the scene depicted. (May 16, 2008 | post #1)
Ohio Public School Teacher Ordered To Remove Bible From Classro...
They may take G-d and His teachings out of the government but, does that mean we as individuals can do it at home? So what they want this teacher to remove his bible from his desk. I think we should be upset, only if our government tells us we can't worship our G-d in our churches and homes. Teach our children from birth the importance of having G-d in ones life and do it at home and in the church and the rest will follow in good time. It's not a G-dless society if we're teaching them in the appropriate places. It's troublesome when we don't fill ourselves with God's words in the church's and Synagogues. (Apr 25, 2008 | post #852)
Court cuts truckers' hours spent on road
I understand where you are coming from there.I get cars and trucks alike zipping past me all the time in that general area. BTW if you're going 50, how do you know they're going 75? (Apr 9, 2008 | post #120)
Court cuts truckers' hours spent on road
How about we remove all passenger vehicles off the interstates and restrict them to the secondary roads? After all, weren't the interstates originally conceived to carry commerce and the military? The idea to let the common passenger vehicle commute on these super highways only came secondary. I don't see them paying a highway use tax every year to operate on them. (Apr 9, 2008 | post #119)
Truck inspections still in low gear
I don't believe I said anything about being involved in crashes... i don't think the average four-wheeler has any control over the mechanical defects and log book violations. I think Pre-Pass has been a detriment to our industry increasing the likelyhood of these dangerous trucks and drivers on the road. (Jan 15, 2008 | post #3)
Why are Christians so judgemental?
Don't mean to sound judgemental but it seems as though you all are being judgemental. Take John Coffey from Decatur, IN's statement..." My point is that you are a hypocrite. You do the same thing you say others do, and don't see a thing wrong with it, as long as it's you that is doing it." Though it is just a statement, he is being judgemental in stating it. So, why attack someone for stating an observation, when it is, in fact, just that. Don't ask for an opinion, if you don't want to hear the answers. (Nov 1, 2007 | post #1269)
Red Light Cameras - Greedy Claar
One does not automaticly have to be following too closely, if they almost rear-end someone. The unexpected reactions of the motoring public can cause crashes. Especially, if it involves a large truck and a passenger vehicle. I wasn't talking about any light, in general. I was making a general statement about traffic light cameras. I think they are inherently dangerous, because the local motorist who knows it is there will mosre than likely unexpectedly stop before the intersection when the light turns yellow, rather than proceed through the intersection. If there is a large truck behind them, the driver will more than likely not be from the area and recognize the intersection as a ticket generator. When the passenger vehicle stops unexpectedly, WHAM. I've actually had people pass me in the far left lane as we come to the intersection as go directly from the left lane to my lane between me and the intersection and stop at the yellow light. I had to hop the curb on the right and pass them on the sidewalk to avoid running over them (Oct 6, 2007 | post #333)
Red Light Cameras - Greedy Claar
Personally, driving a large truck, I thik these red light cameras are dangerous. I can't count how many times I've come close to rearending someone in front of me when they slam on their brakes to avoid going through a yellow light. (Oct 6, 2007 | post #331)
Red Light Cameras - Greedy Claar
Heck the smallest amount I pay is $1.15 and the highest I pay is 8 per toll plaza...how you like those numbers (Oct 5, 2007 | post #322)
Red Light Cameras - Greedy Claar
I spend thousands every year on these stinking toll roads, then thousands more to drive on the "FREE" interstates. I don't get to drive in the far left lane(s) because it is restricted. I don't even get to drive in the express lanes when I am just driving through town. Is that fair? (Oct 4, 2007 | post #312)
Truck inspections still in low gear
I think it's high time these states gets their collective heads out of their collective arses and fund these commerrcial vehicle enforcement officers and even hire more. They have been pretty darned lax in the enforcement department for quite some time. There are way too many drivers and companies getting away with way too many obvious violations, not to mention, hidden violations out there. They need to put a clamp down on these people and not for week long blitzes or 72 hour blitzes either, they need to be year round 24/7 (Sep 30, 2007 | post #1)
PEORIA: Man believed to have been shot twice in eight days
Apparently, if there is anyone out there that needs to open their eyes is you. You may crow that you are a "veteran cop" but chances are you didn't make it to detective. (Sep 28, 2007 | post #3)
PEORIA: Man believed to have been shot twice in eight days
I live in the neighborhood that this happened. I was preparing to head out for work when I heard the shots. I ran to my back door and peered out and saw two, count them, one... two young black punks running from the scene. One was tall with an oversize black t-shirt with a white design on the front of it and the other one was about five seven. I remember the tall one because he was the one carrying the what looked to be a large calibre pistol. From my vantage point they looked to be anywhere between 15 and 18. I tried to convey this to one of the officers arriving at the scene, but he seemed to be more pre-occupied by the other officers conversation. He just brushed me off and proceeded to go about his preconceived more important business. No wonder these guys are having a hard time getting these thugs off the streets. They won't listen to anybody, just that little voice in their little heads. (Sep 26, 2007 | post #1)
