Tommorrow morning at Region 1A, Taylor, Mi. all of us in the job banks were all called to meet at International where Gettelfinger is to speak, should be interesting,or just media frenzy? We'll see.  (Mar 29, 2007 | post #773)

Our committeeman at Trenton Engine also said packages would be mailed out to everyone, March 19th. No mention though how many are actually going to be available. So many folks, with 13 yrs. or so, still working in the plant seem to be reluctant to "take the package", where almost everyone in the job bank" with close to the same senority want the buyout. Hopefully all of those who "choose to take the money and run", really DO get the opp. to do just that!  (Mar 14, 2007 | post #554)

Look, we were not born yesterday! We all know how well we are paid, DUH, we all had $#@% jobs at one time or another, the only difference is the UAW secures our wages. {Thank you Grandpa.} I can't understand why you keep coming up with the notion that "we hate our jobs", and "we sit around and cry?"It's tough, monotonous work, you know that. Thats not the point though, It's your constant quote, "where are you going to get this kind of money with a high school education???" Thats the key, right there. You see, after you devote your time to Chrysler, working at their every whim, this week 1st shift, next week 3rd shift, oh wait, come Thursday, your scheduled for this Saturday, after you were told on Monday, no weekend work. Oh, did I forget, took 8yrs. to even get on 1st shift. Oh by the way, you were asking who ever was scheduled 12hr.shifts, 7 days, I'll tell you, Trenton Engine's block department. 3.3 & 3.8. And that went on for YRS. So as far as saying "Chrysler doesn't owe you a buyout", maybe they don't owe you, but they sure as hell OWE me. Stop percieving us as idiots, who have no idea "HOW WELL WE HAVE IT."  (Mar 1, 2007 | post #392)

Wow, your'e really quite the minority voice on this site, actually, it's becoming so annoying to hear your preaching about your fellow co-workers, I can't figure out your point though. How much time do you have in? I can't believe mgt. didn't somehow flip you into one of their useless floor, overpaid positions. You must have been %$#@%$!!!! to work next to.  (Mar 1, 2007 | post #376)

Chrysler plans $100K buyouts

Jeff, sounds like the oldest, most useless emotion there is: JEALOUSY!!!! When all of us were fortunate enough to gain employment with Chrysler, the union was well established, we can thank all the generations before us, for just pay, benefits, ect. ect. ect.... it's too bad though that your ignorance and lack of knowledge regarding the Union and why it was even established, {dont worry though, you have a lot of company "UNION HATERS club.} Unfortunately though, because of folks with your mentality, our children will not have the luxury of fair pay, benefits, ect., ect., thank-you. I believe if you had the opportunity to work at one of these plants, work hard, enjoy the bennies, and take home a steady check every week, we would not be having this discussion. You would be writing a whole different story.  (Feb 28, 2007 | post #10)

Nothing we didn't already know Mr.or Mrs. Happy! Geez, get a grip, or take a pill. We all have heard the same story.....overpaid -greedy automakers. Whatever, but the UAW, thankfully designed this protection system for us, ie. YOUR wages and benefits, along with all the other bells and whistles. Reason being, to share the wealth these auto giants were reaping in. And dont forget, the Big 3 all signed on the dotted line. Back then who was the competition? Sure, it's not in the contract to "buy us out", but what the hell, its not your "corner store either". I say the last one out, dont forget the lights.  (Feb 28, 2007 | post #367)

me at slps----I didn't work xxx amount of yrs. Breaking my #$%@# $#!# back and body, just to quit!! Ah, duh, we are all aware that in these last few yrs; with the down fall of the big 3, packages are {fortunately available,} so anyone if a bit of sense would stick around too see if it indeed happens. No, I don't hate my job, what I hate is the uncertainty of Chrysler's future. Just looking out for my family, as you are yours.  (Feb 28, 2007 | post #29)

100K to leave.

I understand your thoughts, but..... In my scenario, whats to say that I'm not a "selected plant", so I'm still on active status, {although I am in the the job bank}, that ends in Sep. Then what, collect unemployment, and be happy that someone with LITTLE senority is more accomodated for??????? LIke 100K. According to www.denverpost.com and www.kansascity.com newpapers this morning, along with the London and Frankfort Times, they're all saying "BUYOUTS TO ALL HOURLY WORKERS WILL BE AVAILABLE". Hope so. If moving is what it takes, and you wanna stay on the ship, you gotta do what you gotta do, besides, Chrysler isnt to generous on there relocation packages, they won't go broke there.  (Feb 28, 2007 | post #27)
