Pittsburgh Penguins win Stanley Cup

You are projecting. I've gone to games at both the Joe and United. The Hawks fans are far, far nastier. Just reading your post shows how childish you are. How sad for you.  (Jun 16, 2009 | post #109)

Pittsburgh Penguins win Stanley Cup

Tim, you usually make sense on here. Every announcer had their lips firmly placed on the Penguins behinds even when the refs missed calls at a ratio of about 5 to 1 favoring the Penguins. Don't let your irrational hatred/jealousy of the Wings cloud your judgement. I would think you'd want to keep the cup in the Western Conference.  (Jun 16, 2009 | post #108)

Detroit Red Wings reduce Pittsburgh Penguins to crybabies

The bitterness of the Hawks fans on here is hilariously. The Hawks deserve better fans, they have more class than you. The Pens fans deserve a better team, the Pens acted like entitled spoiled white Chicago suburbanites.  (Jun 8, 2009 | post #24)

Pittsburgh Penguins beat Detroit Red Wings 4-2

I'm a long-time Wings fan that moved to Chicago 6 years ago and have come to love the Hawks. So being a fan of both teams is not impossible, Hawks games are a ton of fun! The Hawks Fans' hatred of Detroit gets old and childish but other than that the games are great fun (and the team has been phenomenal!)  (Jun 4, 2009 | post #45)

It's a metaphor sweetie. Bettman has clearly chosen him for marketing purposes and therefore has a vested interest for him to win. Does it go to Mulder/Scully levels? No, but I'm starting to believe.  (Jun 3, 2009 | post #25)

Plenty? Really? You didn't name a single one, just sayin' <snark> They don't play dirty, they don't cry to the refs, they don't "buy" their team (there's a great article on ESPN on how they build their team), the players aren't involved in scandals, they're an original six team with a rich history and they have the best owner in pro sports. So anyway, I'm fishing for a reason to hate them and I can't find one! ;-)  (Jun 3, 2009 | post #15)

Hahahahaha, oh wait, you were serious. No one outside of Pittsburgh believes that. Besides, even Wings haters know that Bettman has his mouth full of Crosby's schlong 24/7.  (Jun 3, 2009 | post #13)

Your jealousy and hatred is amusing because let's face it, you only hate the Wings because you are jealous of their success. Even though Bettman is doing his best to make sure the Penguins win we all know the victory parade will be down Woodward Ave again.  (Jun 3, 2009 | post #4)

Red Wings are just better from A to Z

Hey MrHockey, get some class, the Hawks were great this year. I must say that it is nice to finally read a column from someone living in reality. Everyone else from the NBC announcers to ESPN is busy worshipping Crosby to realize his team is down two games to zero. Yes Crosby is a very talented player, there is no doubt about that, but last I checked hockey was a team sport. Not to mention I am finding it really hard not to believe in the Bettman conspiracy against Detroit. The scheduling of the first two games and Malkin's get out of jail free pass. Also by watching NHL commercials and the NHL website one would think the Penguins won last year. Oh well, we all know that the victory parade will be down Woodward Ave again this year!  (Jun 2, 2009 | post #3)

Chicago Blackhawks need to win -- without key players

Oh yeah, every team has their bad apple fans that's for sure. I'd been to other Hawks Wings games at the UC but last Friday's game was the first one where I was actually a bit worried. And I definitely don't gloat or rub it in, that's tacky. Heck, in that game I had nothing to rub in, the Wings were getting pounded until they rallied in the third! Heck, the Hawks fans right next to us and behind us were cool. The young guy next to me was at his first Hawks game and asked me, "Hey, my friend gave me this jersey to wear, is he any good?" He was wearing a Hawks Probert sweater! I told him it was perfect for this game and it reminded me of when I was a kid we had a saying "don't be such a Probert!" if someone was being bully-like. Oh well, I'll just chalk up that bad experience to drunk band-wagoners that'll disappear. And the band-wagoners that realized that hockey is great will become great new Hawks fans because there is a lot to love about this team!  (May 28, 2009 | post #383)

Chicago Blackhawks need to win -- without key players

I'm a Wings fan living in Chicago (the city, not the wretched burbs!) and I have now officially gone to more Blackhawks games than Red Wings. That is mostly due to the fact that I like hockey and until last year the Blackhawks were invisible in this baseball town and tickets were dirt cheap and easy to come by and when I was in Michigan Wings tickets were expensive and hard to come by. Because of this the Hawks have become my de facto second favorite team, at first I had a "lovable losers" affinity for them but now they are freakin' great team! Man, if Huet plays like he did last night next season no one will miss Khabibulin. My only complaint is that the last game I went to this season (game 3 vs Detroit) the Hawks fans were so vile and unclassy (by the way when a drunk fan jumps in my face and screams Detroit sucks I don't retaliate at all because I don't want to be mobbed and I have more composure) they left me with a bad impression for the season. A lady hit me, a guy threatened to pee on me in the bathroom and I can't repeat the things shouted into my face. If you can cut the infantile, neurotic, inferiority complex based hatred of the Red Wings you might be taken more seriously. If you are going to hate a team, have a reason for hating them such as for playing dirty *cough Ducks*. C'mon guys, don't make me regret buying that Sharp sweater! I'm looking forward to the Hawks next season in the playoffs and if my Wings can't do it I hope the Hawks do!  (May 28, 2009 | post #366)

Blackhawks may get 2 key players back for Game 5

That may be because of the classless mob mentality of the Hawks fans. I was at the game Friday and the "fans" were absolutely appalling. A lady in her late 50s actually hit me in the back of the head! So many people screamed obscenities in my face that I can't remember. A little girl no more than 7 years old sitting behind me said "Mom, I hate Detroit!" What is wrong with you people? You hate Detroit that much? Really? How sad for you. You don't even have a reason for hating them. I felt the Hawks deserved a better fan base after Friday's game but then on Sunday the team devolved into the fan base. The Red Wings outplayed and outclassed the Hawks on Sunday. Detroit fans have always been classier. Sad for the Hawks. PS a lot is two words  (May 26, 2009 | post #72)

Chicago Blackhawks fall 3-2 in OT

Really? This board is quite tame. You should see Penguins fans, they rate at about -500 for class. I find this especially funny coming from fans that shout "Detroit Sucks" when playing OTHER teams! What's that about? And while I do expect some heckling at the UC I do not expect to be flipped off and have cigarettes flicked at me, not to mention the verbal assaults that are very far from sports rivalry ribbing.  (May 20, 2009 | post #164)

Chicago Blackhawks fall 3-2 in OT

That was a fantastic game. I really thought that second goal was going to rally the Hawks to an OT win. This series is far from over and I look forward to the next few nail-biting games. I really do see the Hawks winning one of the next two. To be selfish I just hope it isn't Friday's game because I'll be there. I'll be in section 311 on Friday so if any of the regular bloggers are there and want to heckle me I'll gladly take a ribbing from you guys (Tim, Paul, Ramrod, USMCvet, et al) I've learned quite a bit about the Hawks from reading your posts.  (May 20, 2009 | post #131)
