Pet owner charged for not getting treatment for dog
Granny if vets offered animal care to all for free how would he/she pay for the extensive schooling they have completed? To be a vet is more involved than being a human physician. Pets are expensive if you cannot afford them you should not have them. (Wednesday Nov 18 | post #20)
Hunters find dog wrapped in duct tape
This sickens me. I hope they catch whoever did this. If a person is sick enough to do this to a poor little dog the he/she has serious issues and needs to be removed from society. (Wednesday Nov 11 | post #4)
Trooper killed in Catskill crash
It was an accident. What I consider a hero and what you consider a hero is of no concern here. It is not in me to trash the life of a man who served our country and put his life on the line for the people of NY. I feel for his family and the other victim here. I suppose that is all that matters. If the man was habitual loser I would have a different outlook but he wasnt. (Wednesday Nov 11 | post #49)
Stissing Mountain H.S. in Pine Plains in lockdown; man with a w...
This man has severe mental illness. This was well known by many in this town. Too bad he was unable to get the help he needed prior to this. (Wednesday Nov 11 | post #2)
Senate will debate gay marriage before the end of the year
Security? I dont think that is the answer here. Don't gay partners already have the ability to share insurances? What do married people have that gay partners or heterosexual partners dont have? A piece of paper? Commitment to each other is more than a piece of paper. (Wednesday Nov 11 | post #7)
Trooper killed in Catskill crash
Trooper Lane did not intentionally kill anyone. On this Veterans Day I prefer to honor our soldiers not trash them for a mistake that he made. Timothy McVeigh was a killer. Intentionally killing innocent people. How can you even put the two in the same sentence. That was just wrong. (Wednesday Nov 11 | post #47)
Trooper killed in Catskill crash
Trooper Lane is a hero as he served our country and the people of NYS. That cannot be taken away from him. If he made a mistake that cost him his life it will be a learning experience and may change the rules of which of which law enforcement lives by. I agree that a police vehicle should not give officers the go ahead to speed, unless on a call. (Wednesday Nov 11 | post #44)
Senate will debate gay marriage before the end of the year
Truth be Told I don't believe that this is hate for gay people. I could be wrong as I do not know Bob. I am not one that embraces the homosexual lifestyle however, I do have a few close friends that are gay. In my upbringing it was known that marriage was between a man and a woman. I am on the fence on this one. My question is what would marriage bring to a gay couple that they don't already have? As far as children are concerned, I do know children of gay parents who are very well adjusted, successful, loved children. Which is more than I can say for many children of heterosexuals. For a child they need love, structure, and support. I would prefer a child live that lifestyle than one of negelct and abuse. (Wednesday Nov 11 | post #5)

Still Grieving, I am sorry for your loss. If this is true I too hope your family receives justice. (Tuesday Nov 10 | post #3)
Governor Paterson launches ad campaign
People have drowned while kayaking. Making it a law to wear a lifejacket was the lawmakers way of saving a life. As is the seatbelt law. I am not saying it is right. As an adult I do agree you have the right to choose. A child however is a different story. (Tuesday Nov 10 | post #8)
Congressman Scott Murphy votes 'no' for Healthcare Reform Act
Just because his district, as well as he voted for Obama does not mean that he has to agree with everything the man puts forth. The last thing we need is a puppet. We need a person who studies and knows the bill inside and out. What will work for the American people and what will not. There is a lot left unfinished in the Healthcare Reform as it stands. They need to do better for the American people. I am not totally convinced that government running our healthcare is positive thing. It is actually a little scary. (Tuesday Nov 10 | post #39)
Albany murder suspect says police have the wrong man
Realitycheck I thought it was innocence until proven guilty. It doesn't appear that there is enough evidence to convict. I wonder what he was on probation for? Is that enough for probably cause? Five months is a long time to sit in jail without proof. Maybe he was just in the wrong place at the wrong time and being out on parole and in Albany was cause enough. Either way five months is enough time to have collected the evidence needed to convict. (Monday Nov 9 | post #5)
Congressman Scott Murphy votes 'no' for Healthcare Reform Act
All Americans should have the right to equal healthcare. I am just not sure this particular plan is the answer. It is a start but needs a lot of shapening of pencils. I think Mr. Murphy will vote a healthcare plan that is beneficial to all. He just see's the many flaws in this one and chooses not to rush on such an important matter. I can't fault the man for that. At least someone out there is looking out for the people he was voted to represent. (Monday Nov 9 | post #30)
