Going out for Thanksgiving dinner

This year we are going out for Thanksgiving dinner this year and are looking for suggestions. Waiting in long lines is not really an option, but I don't if reservations are available in this area on that day. A tradition turkey dinner is not a requirement, but would be nice. Thanks for the information.  (Thursday Nov 19 | post #1)

Rajesh Patel Pain Management

My wife is one patient that the dear doctor did not do an evaluation on. He simply did what the orthopedic surgeon ordered and did no patient to patient consultation. His office will not do any of the paperwork to get the mail order drugs like every other Dr.s office does for us. They charge you a $1.50 for any payment besides cash. Once, when I did not have exact change, they kept the extra $5.00 for the next visit. My point is that they have no customer concern at the front desk and from our experience, none for the patient. When I asked if there was a corporate office to voice my complaints to, I was told that it was the dear doctors policy. To me, this place is just another doc in the box for revenue enhancement with as little service as possible. On the other hand, we just met with a physicians assistant, who did a complete evaluation and she was great. I asked her why after all this time she did an evaluation now. She stated that it was due to a change in Medicare policies and they were doing it for all patients, medicare or not. Perhaps there is hope for this clinic, but the doctor really didn't impress us at all. This is just one persons limited experience so please don't equate my opinion with Obama, socialized medicine, or any off the wall attack on my social position.  (Wednesday Nov 18 | post #16)

HWY 92 NEW NUDE club coming --2010

On Sept. 17th, 2009 I attended a city council meeting about a shooting range and the people an the agenda before were seeking a permit to open an adult night club in Douglasville. It wasn't presented as a strip club, but more of a bar. I don't know if this is what folks are talking about, but since the board was still asleep from their after dinner nap, they might have passed anything.  (Wednesday Nov 11 | post #79)

AARP endorses House Health Care Plan!

I am a little disturbed by this endorsement and haven't read anything about endorsing this bill in the last few issues of my AARP magazine. I could have missed it, but to me AARP has been informing its membership about the different aspects of health care reform and lobbying for certain aspects of the bill. If this bill was so good, why wasn't total endorsement brought up before the fact. This just smacks of some kind of "deal" and I wonder just what is involved. I wonder if AARP has gone the way of the Union movement, at first they served their members, then got so large they had to spent all of their energy serving the system.  (Sunday Nov 8 | post #8)

WGTC wins $500K grant to train industrial workers

As a 67 year old IT student as West Central, I believe they should work on the programs they have and are not capable of executing. I have been in Manufacturing for the last 25 years and if I did a capability study on the two courses I have been enrolled in, West Technical college would receive a D at best. This is not an instructor problem, but a management problem. The one manufacturing skill WCT has been able to duplicate is the ability to sit in an office and shove impracticable policies down the throats of students and hard working faculty. These educational managers are the same type of managers that decide to cut machinery maintenance time so that there is more production time. It's like running you car without oil. Oh well, just my two cents worth from the educational trenches.  (Monday Nov 2 | post #2)

I hate cell phone drivers

I think one handed driving is dicey regardless of the operations the non driving hand is taking on. I can't site the source, but talking on the phone limits your peripheral vision and distracts from you driving duties. A person may have been driving for years, but familiarity of a task does not relieve the full times demands of your attention to the task. I don't want the dude driving a cab or bus that I am in chatting away while trying to navigate the streets.  (Saturday Oct 31 | post #9)

CARTER THE WORST PRESIDENT ----EVER

I can generally understand the second half of your post, but the first part confusing me. Is that written in a deep Southern accent?  (Oct 28, 2009 | post #47)

Topix job search

Anyone ever applied for a job in the cute little job search listed on the side of this page. All it does is turn you over to one of many recruiter companies that make you jump through a bunch of hoops. They can't just accept your resume and cover letter, but make you do all of their work. It seems to me that Tpix just provides a poorly monitored web site to house the revenue producing adds. To me it stinks just a bit.  (Oct 28, 2009 | post #1)

What's up wth the Halloween slut outfits.

I don't even need a costume. With my varicose veins, I will go nude as a road map. Perhaps young girls could borrow costumes from the child beauty contestants, now there's a definition of "slutty. " Opps, that can't be true, those costumes are picked out by parents. See where I am going with this?  (Oct 26, 2009 | post #18)

Restaurants and Dirty Pool

There is a small little Tex-Mexican restaurant on Fulton Industrial Blvd, south of I20, across from the old Winn Dixie distribution center. I have eaten there for years and their Chili Rellenos are better than any others I have had. Since I retired, I don't go ofter and they may be open daytime only. I'll get the name and address next time I go there.  (Oct 22, 2009 | post #62)

Tell your deer hunting story

I went Moose hunting once. All day the first day I used my Moose call and waited, and waited, and waited. NOTHING WORKED. The next day I spied an old horse and snuck him into the woods. I then tied branches on his head to make him look like a Moose. I waited, and waited, and waited. NOTHING WORKED. I then knew that a stolen roan gathers no Moose.  (Oct 22, 2009 | post #2)

CARTER THE WORST PRESIDENT ----EVER

I believe we have lost the one attribute that can make a good president, real and honest leadership. That goes for congress also. With today's spin doctors and the media making breaking news for every minute detail in running a country no one gets a chance to breath. I think that I was the only liberal to vote for Goldwater and after that it seemed to be the lesser of two evils. We need freedom of the press, but any freedom comes with responsibility, another attribute this society seems to have lost.  (Oct 18, 2009 | post #18)

T.A.D. and SPLOST

Well, since Quarterman has put his two cents worth in here, does that mean he has to change his name to twentythreecentsma n. I just don't understand high finaces or monikers.  (Oct 18, 2009 | post #45)
