Jay defends endorsement of Sen. Obama

LOL no, he didn't get the vote in WV, but the superdelegates there have already endorsed him, sooo, go figure. But hey, que sera, sera. I'm expecting to see Pres. McCain sworn into office in O9...given the way the dems have fought this fight, it's inevitable! Love you, Big Sis  (May 17, 2008 | post #111)

I would expect that if Obama has the Holy Bible, it has the normal 10 Commandments. However, as far as his church...he has been a member there for a long time, did he attend the whole time? I doubt it, since he has been involved in politics. People change, even ministers, and this one may have changed, we didn't hear anything about him until Obama joined the race for president. How many times have you read about Rev so and so absconding with all the church funds and the church secretary, or piano player? A minister I sat under for many years, and saw the power of God in his life, became a widower, he remarried. Fine. But his wife left him, and he married again. Some may not see the parallel here, but this minister had ALWAYS preached that a pastor could only be the husband of one wife, and if he was divorced, in God's eyes, he had two living wives. He's a good man, but I sure wouldn't sit under him as the leader of a church, again. Obama should only be judged by his behaviour, the Rev.Wright, for his. Because you can be sure that God isn't holding Obama responsible for Rev Wright. Everyone keeps saying Obama used the Koran, won't salute the flag, or wear a flag pin, for pete's sake, the man is running under the red, white, and blue. Muslims have the right to worship as they choose, do you, honestly, see the people of this country, at present, putting a Muslim into office? I don't think so.  (May 15, 2008 | post #103)

Personally, I don't think an Obama/Clinton ticket would make it, and I think Gore would be setting himself up for the same thing to happen that happened when Jr. got in in the first place. We had just gotten Clinton out, and, although Gore might be a good person, I don't think he's president material. My personal belief, and I could be wrong, is that people are so fed up with the way the democrats have behaved during this campaign, that they majority, even die hard Democrats, will go with McCain. But, on the other hand, In my 57 years, at least the ones I remember elections, I've seen many surprises, when the conventions come around, the delegates have an opportunity to choose whomever they want, they may put someone totally unexpected on the ballot, McCain hasn't been named as the canidate yet, sooo, it's wait and see, at this point.  (May 15, 2008 | post #102)

Sure, he knows already he won't take WV, unless a miracle happens, I happen to think your canidate is an idiot, and Obama has already passed her in delegates, and the superdelegates are leaning to his side. I don't think those two will ever join forces, #1 Those who support Obama do not support Hillary and #2 He'd be crazy if he joined forces with her! She needs to go ahead and concede so the delegates can align themselves with him and stop gumming up the works for any chance a democrat has of being elected. Not that I think it'll happen. If I were betting on the race, I'd have to put my money on McCain, I hate it, but the democrats messed up when the powers that be let it go this far with Hillary and Obama. Now be nice, little sister, and listen to what your big sister says! <grin> I love you, no matter who you vote for, but don't be surprised to get a phone call in Nov., saying I told you so!!! lol  (May 12, 2008 | post #95)

Why Obama will lose the WV vote...

I have never said people from WV were stupid, you forget, I said I had lived there for 46 years, I still liked to hear jokes about WV when I was there, and the preacher didn't use the jokes from the pulpit, he just thought they were funny. Have you never told a "Polack" joke, a Mexican joke, or a joke that some race, creed, or job, was the butt of? Lawyer jokes are popular. And as a matter of fact, people from NC have jokes about themselves that they tell, and publish. ie You know you are from Carolina when you see your grandpa working on the lawn mower while it's hanging from a tree. There are no people on the earth that are better than people from WV, and there are good people everywhere else, too. But I see no harm in poking fun at yourself. An Irishman told me the other day that a lady friend told him she'd not date him if he was the only man left on the earth, he told her he knew she wouldn't, she'd be killed in the rush. He also said a friend of his had a sign up that said "A tidy house is the sign of a boring woman." Life's too short to get upset because someone tell a joke about where we came from, etc., I guess an old yearbook signature says it best, "Don't sweat the petty stuff and don't pet the sweaty stuff". I'm sorry if I upset you.  (May 12, 2008 | post #33)

Obama Supporters Backlashing???

Of course I know WV depends on coal, my dad was a coal miner, before he had to come out because of black lung. Here, too, the economy has been drastically effected by the textile industry and the furniture making industry having the jobs outsourced to other countries. I believe that Obama would try to keep the industries that are benefiting the American people, in America. Sure, I understand having to look at what might happen to the industry that your family depends on for its livlihood, but we all know that the Republican "rule" has hurt us in all aspects, only a couple of Republican presidents that I know of, in my lifetime, have helped the middle and lower class. I fully expect that McCain will be elected, and I know that he has the capabilities to show us that he's the man for the people, and I hope he does. I guess the best thing we can do is pray. The Bible says that if His people will turn from their wicked ways and fall on their knees, he will heal the land, and I can't tell you where it is, but I know it's there! :-)  (May 10, 2008 | post #19)

Hillary ain't gonna make it...face it. Once she lost NC, her goose was cooked. Any other canidate would have conceded, but she cares so much for the Democratic party, she's going to go the last mile and let everyone see what an idiot she is. Even her advisors are puzzled.  (May 10, 2008 | post #88)

Very well put!! People are so caught up in "he said, she said, they said", that they don't read and make informed decisions for themselves.  (May 9, 2008 | post #84)
