Man fails to appear for sex assault trial
It would've saved us HUGE amounts of money in the long run if the father would have just taken care of the situation to begin with. Imagine how that poor child feels, knowing the man is running loose and she is the key to him being found guilty. (Thursday Aug 14 | post #26)

not restitution, but whichever fund the innocent are paid out of if incarcerated and later found to be innocent. (Thursday Aug 14 | post #25)
Man fails to appear for sex assault trial
I understand the innocent until proven guilty system, however in these types of charges, bail should not be set. Give him his speedy trial...fine....bu t rape, murder, sexual assault of a minor should not receive any type of bail. Now our hard earned tax dollars are going to be spent looking for the predator, just so we can pay again later to for the trial and again later to house, feed and clothe him if he is found guilty. Let's at least start saving some tax money and just keep them behind bars. Let restitution pay per day if he is found innocent.....but aren't you a little weary of your tax dollars rising? Shoplifter escapes without his meat

Similar to the Aynor Overpass. Great. I'll be the engineer for the overly inflated price and I get to be the guard. Yippee!!!! (Thursday Aug 14 | post #39)
Requirements lowered for economic group
Well, another day and another of our dollars spent irresponsibly by our beloved Horry County Council. I am sure that majority of that donation will go to pay for salaries and benefits. Thanks Horry, for raising my taxes to give those who can't produce a salary!!!!! (Wednesday Aug 13 | post #3)
Shoplifter escapes without his meat
Ok...I think I should get to be the guard that gets to frisk all the cute college boys...(OMG, my son is a cute college boy....GROSS) never mind.....ok I get to be the guard that gets to frisk all the cute guys over the age of 23 to make sure they are packing the proper kind of meat. Shoplifter escapes without his meat
Yuck. I just hope he remembered to wear clean underwear before stuffing six packages of meat into his pants. This visual will be staying with me for quite a while. Dang it from now on I am buying my meat at a butcher. How many more of you have put my potential meat purchases down your pants????? (Wednesday Aug 13 | post #32)
Man fails to appear for sex assault trial
Casteration would work, if we put a wood building out in the middle of nowhere, put his cork in a vice grip, gave him a dull rusty and jagged bread knife, set the building on fire and let him make the decision to either saw it off himself or burn to death. If he cuts it off, that's ok....guess what, he's out in the middle of nowhere and will bleed to death before he has a chance of making it back to society. (Wednesday Aug 13 | post #18)
Man fails to appear for sex assault trial
And we should be surprised that he didn't show up for court? Let's get real, the county probably gave him 10K bail (I am guessing based on other bail for similar crime) and he decides that losing the 10K is better than facing a jury of his peers and then having to spend a considerable amount of time in jail. Did the county really expect anything different? Giving any type of bail on these types of crimes is riduculous. Remind me to thank the procesutors office, when another child is molested by this man. Officials: Crime follows population
I should have said: heppend in July of a long time resident. (Wednesday Aug 13 | post #72)
Officials: Crime follows population
I know exactly what stats I want. But get realistic, May was over a few months ago, and cars are still being broken into and stolen, robbery and burgalary are still taking place, people are still getting shot, and the news doesn't always print all the stories, therefore are we being led to believe that May is the only time the majority of the crime happens? Get real, suddenly during May you hear about alot more crime, but I can tell you that an arrest of a meth lab operater happened in July by a long time resident, but there's nothing in the news on that particular crime...I kept searching for it and nada. All I want are the actual counts of what happens year round before being spoon fed someone's percentages, when we have absolutely no idea on how those percentages came to be. (Wednesday Aug 13 | post #71)
Officials: Crime follows population
ROFL well obviously not, now that you put it that way. Next time just come out and say what your thinking for gosh sakes...don't beat around the bush. You are right about the grand jury, but the article was talking about bookings at the prison/jails. What I want to know is how many crimes and arrests are commited each month, breaking them down by category of assualt/battery, drugs, dui's, domestic violence, rape, etc... and not just showing the counts in percentage form, but actual counts. Then we can see just how much crime is going on in Horry County. Then, to take it one step further, lets see how many, in each category were given deals, plea bargins, jail time, fines or dropped charges. That would be a real eye opener as to what is happening in Horry County. Without actual figures, people are left to believe that the overwhelming majority of arrests/crime is commited in May, according to the percentages given. What numbers were used to get those percentages, did they take the percentage of all crime or just a particular segment of crime to come out with their ratios? If someone wants to blame a particular type of tourist then come to the public with actual counts/facts and not just a percentage. Publish actuals and then let the readership come to it's own conclusions. (Wednesday Aug 13 | post #70)
County lowers landing fees, waives fees in winter
I love our area, what I can't stand are the good ole' boys and crime ladden council members running it and how no planning what so ever has gone into any decision. They keep repeating the same mistakes and don't care that the last huge blunder will be affecting our offspring as they start out in the world paying their fair share and more of taxes.
