San Rafael traffic stop leads to huge drug ring in Petaluma

I get much of my info direct from the police who knowingly report non pit attacks as pit attacks , and from various hospitals that treat dog bite. You get yours from lawyers who profit from continuing the lie.  (Sep 30, 2009 | post #159)

they do have strog jaws but contrary to popular beleif they are not the strongest and they don't lock as some will have us believe. It is impossible to accurately measure bit strength since dogs don't apply full force other than at the initial impact. Here are strongest bites by breed this changes as dogs within a breed vary greatly. 1)Kurdish shepard bit force over 700 psi 2) mastiff ( i saw one bite a woman's face half off) 3)Rottweiler bite 4) wild dogs 5) german shepard 5)pit bull  (Sep 29, 2009 | post #155)

More children are beaten to near death or killed by their parents. Are we going to ban people? Bans are a retarded non effective excuse for human failure and lack of resposibility. No wonder you endorse them  (Sep 29, 2009 | post #154)

this has been covered elsewhere but the statistics are just dead wrong. They are skewed by media bias and more than half of the reported pit bull reported attacks are not pit bulls . Many are labs. I have seen this my self with neighbors. I witnessed a policeman shot a black lab after it attack a kid and then reported it as a pit bull attack. This goes on daily. If you continue to get your knowledge ( or lack there of) from sights that profit from skewing and buying skewed info it seriously hurts your creditability. If pit bulls were any where near the problem you say then the dogs rescued from Vick would not be trusted for rehabilitation, and yet all but a couple have been re-homed and none have have attacked anyone yet. The media bias ect... has been covered many places and is fortunately slowly going away now that they have been called on it. Follow their lead .  (Sep 29, 2009 | post #153)

Rottweilers attack and kill more often than pits. Look it up. Small dogs attack and bite more often than pits 100:1 in fact. And yes small dogs do kill.  (Sep 29, 2009 | post #150)

Comcast unveils rate hike

The Comcast I have in Novato has the same programing my mother has in San Rafael and my friend in Mill valley. Is this new? . How is it suppose to be different? As bad as the rate hike may be it is nothing compared to the crap AT&T pulled on us and nearly forced us to switch.  (Sep 17, 2009 | post #46)

Marin's challenge: Zero waste

LOL. if the cure for cancer needed rail shipments in Marin he would be against it.  (Sep 16, 2009 | post #28)

Marin's challenge: Zero waste

It's not 25 times shorter so the savings will still be there. The route is irrelevant. the fuel economy difference is the big factor. Regardless , the point was that the garbage could be shipped out of county eastward and none would end up in Marin, or sonoma. If we could all reduce our non recyclable garbage that would be even better. Then none would have to be shipped anywhere.  (Sep 16, 2009 | post #27)

where did I mention 101? The trains remove the trucks that will go east over 37.  (Sep 15, 2009 | post #20)

Marin Voice: Desalination is not the solution

Yeah, it's the chems that worry me the most. They are the hardest to remove. Even if there is a way to remove them it's not cost effective and and won't likely be in any desal plant. As to the sewage, as bad as it is at least it's better now than it was in the 70's. The house boats and docked boats all use to dump directly into the bay. I remember them doing that in the house boat I lived on in greenbrae as well. That tall peaked roof one out near the end.  (Sep 15, 2009 | post #136)

Red-light cameras set to debut in downtown San Rafael

A simpler solution is to drive better and not give them a reason for this in the first place.  (Sep 15, 2009 | post #101)

Marin's challenge: Zero waste

Novato's program is bass ackward. One can, bad instructions ect.. . If you read or call it's not too bad but most people don't , they put garbage in both as the racoons eating from our neighbors cans can attest too.  (Sep 15, 2009 | post #18)

Marin's challenge: Zero waste

It will be a 12-25 times reduction in fuel use if it's shipped by rail instead of truck. Not ideal but better.  (Sep 15, 2009 | post #17)

They can die their brown shirts in recycled sewer water.  (Sep 14, 2009 | post #10)

Marin's challenge: Zero waste

I completely agree with you. Half the people on our block put garbage in the recycle bins because it isn't clear what goes in what can. We only have a big blue can in Novato.  (Sep 14, 2009 | post #9)
