edw64.. "Trying to deny them nuclear reactors to bring power to impoverished regions, simply will not work" No one has denied Iran nuclear power reactors. As a matter of fact, (if my memory serves me correctly) several months back Russia, & I believe China offered to supply them with everything they needed to get they're nuclear reactors up & running. The only trouble Iran had with the deal was, they couldn't keep the radioactive waste produced by they're reactors. Russia wanted to haul it away. I wonder why that would be? When the ACLU first started out, back in the day (as my kids say), I had high hopes they'd make a difference for the "Good". For a while they did, & I even sent in donations for a while. But after a few years, they went psycho & started taking things (IMO) had nothing to do with civil liberties. So.. for a long time now... I could give a $h!t what the ACLU thinks! They're nothing but a bunch of little hitlers. They like shoving their screwed up beliefs down everyone s throats, & if you refuse to CONFORM they resort to threatening long legal battles, most people can't afford. As for this guy flying his flag upside down voicing his "distress ".. thats BS. He wanted a reaction, & he got a reaction. Pretty stupid thing to do now a days, but hey.. to each their own. Whoever thinks the cold war is over lives in a dream world. Russia has been looking for a fight with the USA for decades, & they'll keep going till they get it.. I just hope the US is done in Iraq & Afghanistan before that happens. Russia has fallen many times, & they never learn from past mistakes (not that the US does either), so they're always doomed to repeat them. If your not a government Of the people & for the people, your doomed to fail. In the past 325 yrs.. Every time.. the USA has been attacked, we've fought back, & (if you know your "TRUE unscripted " history) defeated all tyrants. Muslim Extremist's won't be any different.. Russia knows this, which is why they don't have the balls to go one on one.. They need the rest of their cronies In the UN to help with their dirty work. What really ticks me is we still pay dues & belong to the UN. We should have pulled out the first time they accepted a dictatorship country as a charter member.
