Oklahoma Cattlemen Oppose Cow Flatulence Fee
Hmmm. I wonder if the millions of Bison that roamed the Great Plains for thousands of years contributed to Global Warming? Taxing meat producers is just about the most far-fetched notion on this issue I've ever heard. And where does it stop? Guess we'll have to tax the contestants of hot dog eating contests and similar events. Pretty silly. (Apr 2, 2009 | post #3)
New Tobacco Tax Good For Pryor Business
25 cents per cigarette. I love hearing the whiners proclaiming that their addiction is now too expensive and it isn't fair. Then quit! Buford quit years ago. It took several attempts, but he did it with the help of a nicotine patch prescription and lots of showers. You can't smoke in the shower! You smokers won't believe how much better you will feel, smell, appear, breathe, taste, etc. and you can pay for your car insurance premium for what your habit used to cost per year. River Spirit Casino Ready To Open
I just keep on driving by, marveling at the sheer size of the place and the number of cars in the parking lot, imagining the dollars being bundled and trundled off to a bank. My cashectomies are performed by the medical profession, not an Indian Gaming Venue. (Mar 30, 2009 | post #1)
Car Hopping An Increasing Trend In Tulsa
These kids need to get off the streets and put their noses in a textbook or practice their favorite sport. Stealing isn't a game, it's a crime.......and they won't like the punishment they get. Maybe a tour of the Tulsa County Jail will open some eyeballs. Why not incorporate a "field trip" to the jail for middle school kids as part of the curriculum. Remember the old "Scared Straight" show on TV? (Mar 30, 2009 | post #1)

Andrew Mathis Bound Over For Trial
Death penalty is too merciful for this sicko. Place the family pictures of those he ran down on the ceiling of his cell so he can see them every day for the rest of his miserable life. (Mar 26, 2009 | post #12)

Child Dies In Okmulgee House Fire
How sad for all concerned. I would not want to be the firefighter that found that little child. Mr. Strong will have to live with this for the rest of his miserable life. (Mar 20, 2009 | post #1)

Tulsa Apartment Fire Forces Evacuations
Probably another meth head shake and baking. You couldn't pay me to live in an apartment nowadays.....the risk is too high. Watch renter's insurance premiums skyrocket because of this......hope nobody was injured or killed this time. (Mar 16, 2009 | post #1)

State House Votes To Lower Grocery Tax
Tyrell: You shop "in" grocery stores, not "to". And if the grocery store you are alluding to had not been shoplifted into closing, it and others would flourish in that section of Tulsa. Great idea on the lowering of taxes on meat, eggs, cheese, milk and produce. Would be a good compromise......an d if grocery stores could sell liqour and wine, revenues would likely increase.
