Hey guys/gals, please make sure you have a desinated driver if your going to go to VFW or other places where there will be drinking. As for those that do not drink, Burem Missionary Church will have a Watch Night Thursday, the 31st, from 7:00 or 8:00 till midnight. Preaching, singing, finger foods, fellowship. Then at midnight everyone will meet at the alter and bring in the new year. I would say most churches will have a watch night to bring in the new year.  (10 hrs ago | post #6)

At one time I was a member of an Assembly of God Church in Texas. I am, at this time, as most of you know, am a member of Burem Missionary Baptist Church and an American. I don't care what religion a person is, or where they live, what color their skin is as long as they have the Lord in their life. But you kill hundreds of innocent people on planes, 911 killings, etc, and call it religion, this is just wrong. Killings in wars is one thing but the 911, the man that just tried to blow up a plane, etc, this is just down right murder and I will never believe it's all in the name of Jesus or God. The biggest problem is people in general in the world have no fear of God anymore. This is what is destroying mankind, no fear of God. Mankind is destroying themselves. To think, his own father reported he was concerned, that his son turned radical Islamic. His Visa should have been pulled and he should have never been allowed to get on a plane. I love America, but I fear we have seen nothing yet. The people have lost to much faith in our government and may one day start taking things into their own hands, by-passing the law. Drug help/advice...?

Possum, I am so proud of you, wanting to be there for alcoholics/drug addicts. My twin brothers is in AA and has been for about 7 years now and he sponsors men, as I'm sure you do. The Lord uses people like you and my brother to help others. Bless your heart for hearing His voice when He calls on you, you respond. I love ya my friend. As for the one trying to help your friend with his drug addiction, honey just keep praying for him. The Lord hears your prayers and knows your heart. My dad had a shoe repair shop for many years and done leather work. Not because he was my dad, but he was good. He not only repaired shoes, but leather purses, saddles, leather coats, anything that was leather he could fix. Check out the mall that has the shoe repair shop. They should be able to fix it.
