No Invite, No Problem: Couple Crashes Obama Dinner

WHAT A BONER! If our nation wasn't going to hell in a hand-basket this would be funny. It's clear this administration is in way-over it's head. Sending Obo to the White House is like sending your dog to the butcher shop to pick up your meat order. It's not the secret service, it's their orders from on-high and the hand picking of certain staff that caused this security breach. Obo and Michelle would not wish to offend anybody who they can kowtow to; they looked like rich liberals so they must be okay, let-em-in. Btw, ya gotta see some of the posed pix, like the one of the female half cuddling up with Biden; the crash wasn't the only boner that night! http://www.examine r.com/x-19673-Mich elle-Obama-Examine r~y2009m11d27-Mich elle-Obama-State-D inner-CrashersCras h-Gate-Volume-1  (20 hrs ago | post #7)

Agents Seize 316,000 Bongs Disguised as Xmas Ornaments

Attaboy agents! Get those innocuous bongs/ornaments so those laid-back hipsters will have to roll their-own this Christmas. By-the-by, I hope you are as diligent at searching for dirty B.O.M.B.S as you are for bongs.  (Saturday Nov 21 | post #2)

Maple Shade, NJ

Maple Shade officials open kids' game room

This (10% deal) would only be a fair deal for MS IF the vendor is responsible for ALL maintenance AND there is a long-term contract. I trust the town 'fathers' calculated how long it will take to break even at the 10% share of the take. Yes, I know, it gets the kids off the street. But I'd hope there will be a break even point before the newness wears off. I would think it a better deal to have simply allowed the vendor to place HIS machines with NO investment by MS. Let the vendor take the income and maybe charge him a very nominal rent. Did ANYBODY ask about this possibility? Glad they are putting space in the building to good use.  (Saturday Nov 21 | post #1)

Boy Rescued After Getting Stuck In Chimney

STORY: "I've seen a lot of things, but that's not one of them," Chief R.D. Simpson said. What does THAT mean? Things? Reminds me of one of the greatest thinkers of our time: Yogi Berra "You can observe a lot just by watching.” “It ain't over till it's over.” “You've got to be very careful if you don't know where you're going, because you might not get there.” And maybe Chief R.D. Simpson will now say: "I never said most of the things I said.” Anyway, this proves that kids need constant supervision until they reach, maybe, thirty? There are better ways to retrieve something in a chimney, but clearly beyond the mental grasp of kids.  (Friday Nov 20 | post #2)

Priest: Swine flu injections have microchips to destroy mankind

Hey Wolf, you're right, I liked the original too; Patrick McGoohan was a really cool guy and so was John Steed (the Avengers). However, I was like twelve when I watched these (now) cult programs and any older guys who hung-out with the likes of Mrs Peel was cool to me. I'm watching masterpiece 'Contemporary' lately. I enjoy watching these stories with twists in the plot and anything you need to watch with NO distractions.  (Thursday Nov 19 | post #12)

Trove of history found at SugarHouse

Humans + river = gathering place for humans = human castoffs. The entire Delaware Valley is loaded with this stuff if you look for it. Plow any field in south jersey and you'll come up with arrow heads; no expertise needed. The natives (and their conquerors) were very much like us: hunt and fish here and there, go 'down-the shore' in the summer too. And leave their crap wherever it falls. Nothing new unda-the sun.  (Thursday Nov 19 | post #2)

Priest: Swine flu injections have microchips to destroy mankind

Not-quite-yet, but it's in the planning stage right-now. Just have to get that pesky Democrat healthcare bill passed first, then your **** belongs to Obo. If dogs can be 'chipped' why-not us? Spaying and neutering won't be far-behind. Keep voting for "change" and you'll get what you deserve. BTW, anybody watching 'the Prisoner' on AMC?  (Thursday Nov 19 | post #1)

Woman whips out pistol, unloads it in Walmart

I heartily agree with a poster on the story page; carrying a pistol into Wally-World, or any other world, is best-done with it fully loaded. After-all, it's just a pretty brick otherwise. And yes, it IS still like the "wild-west " nowadays. There are muts all around us who are ready to prey on us in a heartbeat. Especially during Christmas shopping season. People have been murdered for a few bucks of shopping cash. BTW, the wild-west was not as wild as you see on TV, or at-least as guns go. Maybe some of the brothels were;-)  (Wednesday Nov 18 | post #26)

Idaho boy, 11, shoots black bear on family's porch

You seem clear about your POV that the kid did something wrong, but I ask, WHAT WOULD YOU DO? I read several accounts of this story and it seems the boy and his sister were home and this bear was menacing them. The boy tried to chase the bear and when that failed, he did what he believed was the right thing to do. Perhaps an adult with steadier nerves MIGHT have tried just one more tactic. But a child with a limited capacity of rational thought processes did what he had to do to protect himself and his sister. End of story. None of us should be Monday morning quarterbacks here; the outcome was positive, the children survived. THAT is THE most important consideration. I hate to think what the alternative ending might have been. You seem so eager to bash this kid and his actions, but have no suggestions as-to what he should have done differently; and you seem to believe with utter confidence that all would turn out for the best with your plan...oh wait, you have no plan. Please tell us you have some positive ideas for us, tell us you know this could have turned out better for the kids AND the bear. We really want you to share with us your superior grasp of this potentially life or death struggle. Please enlighten us with your elucidating omnipotence for hindsight. By-the-by, what makes me unfriendly because I believe people should save their-own lives when threatened, or is it that you don't like pit bulls? Or maybe you're one of those spineless hoplophobes who would rather die a horrible death than take-up a weapon to save your own miserable life. Intelligent people with strong criticisms usually put-forth their alternative POV, all you do is criticize...very poor form  (Wednesday Nov 18 | post #7)

Police: Man upset over ticket phoned trooper's mom

Have to give this guy at-least some credit for effort if-not execution. Still, couldn't he come up with something much better with a whole MONTH to think about it? I subscribe to the philosophy of never getting mad, but getting even too, but this was pretty childish. Does remind me of a Sopranos episode when Ralphie, posing as a policeman, called Paulie's mother to tell her Paulie was hospitalised with a gerbil in his rectum. Now THAT was a good prank call.  (Wednesday Nov 18 | post #5)

Idaho boy, 11, shoots black bear on family's porch

"Except for this little bruiser the folks I know there are great folks. Independent minded and v. friendly." EXCEPT? What a stupid thing to say, this kid has some balls! He tried FIRST to shoo the bear away, and he was protecting his sister and himself. He should get an attaboy for this, not condemning remarks; WHAT WOULD YOU DO? Bears are dangerous and can break into houses and eat little kids. This is what made America great once a long-long time ago, courage in the face of imminent danger. When you don't have Joe Biden's security detail to run a bear over, you have resort to self-help.  (Wednesday Nov 18 | post #4)
