Kennedy was a throw in for sure. But Austin Jackson should have been enough to seal the deal. Yankees giving away their farm pieces. I'll bet, given another season to groom, Jackson will be better than Granderson in Detroit. Looks like the D'Backs got the turd end of the stick in this one... I'll bet Igawa will be gone in a trade before too long. Don't the Yanks need a utility guy or a backup catcher? No way he can be considered of any other value at this point. You're projecting... Besides, with his speed & his lefty bat, he's a number 2 guy behind Jeter for sure. Although, with his pop, home games he can be a number 6 guy in that softball field they call a stadium... I still think they gave up too much for Granderson. Don never stops talking about the Mets. He's more obsessed with the Mets than he is with his own team... Story has it that Mets are going after Piniero AND Matt Holliday. I still think Jason Marquis would be a better fit than Piniero. Both have stated they'd play in NY. CitiField will bring the pitchers, watch & see... Now that Mauer is MVP, do you think that Minnesota will be more or less inclined to move him? If they do, there's only one place he's going, you know that already. Then what's Posada's fate behind the plate? Don't count out Posada being on a different team come this spring. Especially if they re-sign Matsui... Out of the entire list of Met free agents this year, I can only find two players I'd re-sign - Fernando Tatis & Alex Cora. The rest can go pack. Actually, that's not entirely true. Delgado on the cheap for one year plus incentives while you further groom Murphy as his replacement. He's still a dangerous bat... Questions in the Yankee's rotation. Will Wang be back? Will he REALLY be back? Is Joba a starter or a reliever? Will they let him actually PITCH games if he starts? Will Pettite retire if the Yanks don't re-sign him? They'd be idiots if they didn't but they we're idiots before (Bernie Williams). Not much available on the Free Agent market for a TOP starter, that might save Pettite until Halliday is available...
