SHELBURNE: USC's Carroll, UCLA's Neuheisel shouldn't regret calls

Say what you will, but SC is the school known for accepting the athletic thugs regardless of academic credence. They operate like a pro football, business mentality so unless you are from here and are only making your comment based on Rick's tenor in Washington, you don't realize the first hand arrogance spewing out from the University of Spoiled Children. It is tough to compete in the same city that omits all the high-profile thugs from around the country and accepts those with lower academic standards. They are the reincarnation of the old University of Miami teams back in the day that started the we don't care about the college experience and how our thugs represent us, but just want them to win at any and all costs! Check online to see which team is the most hated around the country... you guessed it, the Condoms!  (5 hrs ago | post #7)

COLLEGE FOOTBALL: USC pours it on in 28-7 win over UCLA

Thanks Trojan Fan for your "Totally agree" comment. Nice to see that someone one YOUR side then also (totally) agrees in my assessment of Carroll and his "continued arrogance"! Most Trojans try to sidestep this and paint him out to be Mr Humble, City Humanitarian, etc... Carroll edits his thoughts extremely well and choreographs every word that comes from his mouth to media. Steve Garvey used to do this and was once loved by all of LA until his "dark" private side came out and people learned of what a rotten human being he is. Not saying Carroll is a Garvey, but he ain't no Angel in the City of, although he is trying his best to present himself that way! I don't think you guys will have to worry about losing Carroll to another coaching stint elsewhere. I'd worry more about once Villa(rigg)osa makes his play for California Governor, or hell U.S. President, that Carroll won't try to slip in as L.A.'s next mayor. Now that is a power trip right up Carroll's alley. Maybe he can do both (Mayor/Coach) at the same time for the ultimate ego fullfillment of a lifetime!  (5 hrs ago | post #30)

Kobe Leads Lakers to 15th NBA Title

And don't waste my time with type-o comments or something like that. I don't have time to proof my typing here at work! You get my jist on this, I know you do! Beside, most of my spare time is spent checking the paper to see who the WORLD CHAMPION LOS ANGELES LAKERS next victim will be!  (5 hrs ago | post #96)

Dude please, we know you hate the lakers and woulf jump off a bridge of Garnett told you to do so, but now your rant on the schedule being rigged is SO STUPID that I can't even take anything you say as semi-intelligent any longer. Every team plays eevery other team in the same increments and the samehome/away format. If you are trying to say the Celtics have played all the tough competitions early, then DUDE WAKE UP, you should eslatic cuz they have an excellent record and it will all be smooth downhill sailing the rest of the way! There is NO response you can even make to this so please just DO NOT! Just wait another week until your Danny Ainge thug mentality team decides to bring another upstanding, egotistical whiner in Allen Iverson onto the team. Maybe he and Wallace can have a good time and go thugging after every game!  (6 hrs ago | post #95)

COLLEGE FOOTBALL: USC pours it on in 28-7 win over UCLA

Both coaches are competitors no doubt, but I think Neuheisel should have just let it rest. We could never have come back to score 14 points in under a minute, especially the way our offense sputtered. But on that note, I find it right up "Hollywood Carroll's alley to go for a bomb when that wasn't neccessary either. If USC took a knee on each down with UCLA calling a timeout after each, NOTHING different would have happened to the outcome of the game. By doing so, he would have made Neuheisel look like the single a-hole in this. Carroll had a chance to outclass Neuheisel but his continued arrogance just didn't allow it to happen... Which of course didn't surprise me one bit!  (Monday | post #23)

UCLA's attention shifts to USC

Hey Rob did you know that Sciarra finished in the Top Ten in Heismann voting that year? May not have been a hell of a lot of votes, but thought I'd throw that trivia out there.  (Tuesday Nov 24 | post #13)

UCLA player arrested on assault charge

Drago...You're killin' us! Why? You should refrain for fist fights being an athlete and all. That stuff is better suited for the Trojans!!!  (Monday Nov 23 | post #1)

UCLA's attention shifts to USC

I would never have thought about the possibility of us beating SC back about three or four weeks ago. I want to believe our program is thrusting upward while "Hollywood " Carroll and his "spoiled children" and "thug" athletes may have lost their arrogant edge! I have it 26-21 Bruins as we shut out the Trojans in the 4th quarter and rally for victory.  (Monday Nov 23 | post #3)

Bench Mob? What Bench Mob? Lakers' reserves must improve

Seems to me that Brown, Walton, Powell, and even Mbenga are doing a pretty good job coming in and playig extra minutes.  (Friday Nov 13 | post #1)

UCLA men's basketball still struggling at almost full strength

Only if they hope for an inside presence! Gordon is a little too raw for that. It will be interesting to see who take the lead. Drago could continue to surprise because he can actually post and make things happen. He doesn't do it enuff though and relys on 30 foot bombs, which we are lucky that he is pretty darn good at. Both Gordon and Lee have potential to make their own plays inside but I am not convinced either has progessed from their radical-at-times play! If Keefe could ever play with consistency, he could be a surprise x-factor. I am really rooting extra special for these guys cuz it is going to be a year that we come into many games being the "underdog "! A rare word used for Bruin basketball!  (Wednesday Nov 11 | post #4)

Lakers' Gasol left frustrated over injury

Tiffany, yes no one told him to play, but the key is did anyone really tell him NOT to play?!  (Wednesday Nov 11 | post #19)

Lakers' Gasol left frustrated over injury

Yes agreed! But until something is written into the player's contract, you can't always tell him what steps he is allowed to take or not. Kind of kind ben Rothlisburger a few years back in that accident he was in while riding a motorcycle. If I am a sports organization, I sure as hell ain't gonna let my frnachise player ride a friggin motorcycle while I am paying him. Some of these athletes must realize that even though their intentions are good and/or innocent, they are paid fantastic money by someone. those salairies cover the person for the entire year and beyond, so in my opinion, the athlete is on the clock year round and needs to adhere to the team's wishes! I just hope Gasol heals quickly cuz he is ready a terrific basketball player and equally wonderful guy!  (Wednesday Nov 11 | post #18)

That's what these creampuff games are for... to get the dents out of the armor and get a feel of who is going to help produce the most for your squad... a la minutes!!!  (Wednesday Nov 11 | post #1)

Moore means more for UCLA

This INT counted the most. Hard to believ a player with so many INTs for the season doesn't have much by way of the team record to show for it! Let's keep winning guys and back his efforts up!  (Wednesday Nov 11 | post #1)
