McCain Flip-Flops On Raising Taxes!

Getting back to the subject at hand... I watched Faux(Fox) News and heard none of this... what's up with that?? Heard it on CNN though and MSNBC  (Tuesday Jul 29 | post #10)

McCain Flip-Flops On Raising Taxes!

I am considering switching from a specific party to Independent - just don't feel like being 'held down' by any one party anymore. Some folks accuse this as being wishy washy but hey, sometimes you just don't have love for a particular party anymore.  (Tuesday Jul 29 | post #9)

Talk-show host Tavis Smiley tackles Obama and race

Tavis is so selfish! If you don't like his views or decline any invitations [put forth by Tavis] you're no longer liked and shunned upon. Such a crybaby! I really do believe that Tom Joyner gave Tavis an 'un-aired' opinion regarding BO and Tavis just said the hell with it and decided to quit giving commentaries on the Tom Joyner Morning Show(soon to be gone Tavis!)  (Monday Jul 28 | post #16)

Author JL King No longer on the 'down low,' but black community...

"After writing two books on the subject, King has written a new novel called “Love on a Two Way Street,” due out tomorrow, that expects to be just as intriguing. " Just another publicity stunt... Next!  (Monday Jul 28 | post #3)

Weight-loss Tips Differ In African-American, Mainstream Magazines

To each his own... you don't need any type magazine to alter your weight and you don't have to buy expensive exercise products either. Walking is the best exercise for anyone and being conscious of how much you eat and what you eat truly helps. Prayer will not help you lose weight. Getting up and exercising and sticking to it helps! Definitely have a food journal (you don't have to join Weight Watchers to have a food journal) and buy a food scale (very cheap) you'll be surprised what a portion really is.  (Saturday Jul 12 | post #7)

Blacks given ‘ghetto’ names in SoCal yearbook

That was foul... although someone saw humor in this, it really is the parent's fault for giving their children these 'made up names'... recently my employer mentioned in our weekly digest that any employee gave birth and printed the children's names... I just shook my head while reading them. My white coworkers asked me to pronounce the names for them, my thoughts were to say: I'm not an English major and to ask the mother how to pronounce the names. Whether they were being sincere or not I wasn't going to give anyone the satisfaction of having a good laugh. Hell, I couldn't pronounce the names. My actual response was, "I can't pronounce the names"  (Jun 28, 2008 | post #5)

Radio Merger Under Fire From Black Lawmakers

As an XM customer I was hoping that with the merger there would be double minority-owned programming to choose from. With the gas prices steadily increasing, the little luxury of satellite radio may become history... gas prices increased and Netflix had to go... satellite radio is on its way out to.  (Jun 28, 2008 | post #1)

Students wage hunger strike for education funds

"Dixon called on all parties to compromise. The students agreed to call off their hunger strike and meet with her. Chereaya Jones, a 17-year-old junior at Western High School and a BAP organizer, told Workers World: “We feel this is a victory that the mayor has agreed to meet with us; however, we know it is the mayor that needs to compromise and restore full funding to Peer2Peer. It is only because of our actions like marching, the encampment, and our hunger strike that she was forced to even agree to meet with us. We know we must keep the pressure on because the mayor claims the money isn’t there but when big businesses need money, they find it. Now is the time to find the money for young people.”" Hip Hip Hooray for the Students!!!  (Jun 9, 2008 | post #2)

Doby, I sure hope he doesn't help to pay off her debt... I'm hoping that I'll see a more agressive Obama, and by all means playing by the rules.  (Jun 3, 2008 | post #4)

Hillary 'needs a miracle' despite ANOTHER Obama-priest controversy

This time around catholic church and white rev... everyone is entitled to their own opinions BUT do you have to openly express them for all to see? Makes you wonder if Wright & Pfleger are 'pro Obama'... things that make you say hmmm.  (May 30, 2008 | post #11)
