We had better be careful, her name is on the thread which is just an invitation to start converting pagans and heathens with vigor for the next few weeks.  (Tuesday | post #21)

Funny Knit and Pray thread

I think it was either a misunderstanding, or a joke. A blocked colon would indicate that someone is full of sh*t, which describes K&P very accurately for a lot of us on the pagan forum. I don't think anyone here would rejoice to know that anyone (even K&P) was actually very ill, but toilet humour gets us all sometimes.  (Monday | post #16)

I wholeheartedly agree. Many people tend to ask the wrong questions, or rather seek the answers from others, when all that information is stored right inside. What you have described is intuitive analysis, which is a very useful tool. Whether you are analyzing a dream (as Andromodust pointed out), reading tarot, communicating with an animal spirit, or simply meditating, you find the answers in your own subconscious. Some symbols are archetypal in nature, and we can use that universal knowledge to a certain point, but as we all have different life experiences, some things will indeed have different meanings to us each.  (Saturday Aug 16 | post #10)

Agreed. Speaking of birds though. a sparrow flew into the windshield of my friend's car when she drove me to my wedding. It was not a good marriage.  (Thursday Aug 14 | post #6)

Meditation does it help you?

Sad to admit that I can't quite get there. I am trying guided meditations on cd now, as I have a lot of trouble finding the quiet needed. Quiet inside my head I should say. I do try to combine meditation, yoga and chakra work sometimes, and although I'm not great at any of it, I do notice that I feel better physically and emotionally afterward. It is a great deal of effort.  (Wednesday Aug 13 | post #2)

Reader FAQ: Magical Names

Never really heard of this, but then I'm not Wiccan either. Why do you NEED a magical name? I don't feel that I really need any name, except for general public to address me by.  (Wednesday Aug 13 | post #2)

Sad News -- I need Healing Energies

I am so sorry, I will light a candle for you and your cousin this Saturday. And maybe for the cats too... Try to hold on. the first few weeks after a death can be agonizing, but everything in time shall pass. Try to think of the fantastic journey that your Aunt is on now, and remember with love. You are in our hearts and minds, (hugs).  (Wednesday Aug 13 | post #18)

Backyard fire pits have no place in this city -- not now, not ever

This is merely a lame attempt at humour by people living in Northern Canada. The leader of the province of Alberta has been caught drunk driving and yelling at the homeless, and the people there just roll their eyes "oh Ralph". Don't expect too much.  (Wednesday Aug 6 | post #5)

Pagan Pride Days

I went last year. Street clothes, but if you want to maybe wear a long skirt or something that is passable on the street but still special to you. At my city's PPD they made a big deal about showing the community that we are all just like everyone else, so robes would just point out those differences. But that is only my opinion, you should wear whatever you are comfortable in. I also went hoping to meet new people, close contacts. But the group that organizes it were all really "together ", not cliquey, just that they all knew one another and were busy with the running of things that there was not a lot of opportunities to actually meet and greet. But, that is the way of this group...I have since had interactions with them. They profess to welcome new members, but are so stuck in their ways that it's kind of hard to get in. Just go, be bold, talk to whomever looks interesting. Don't be shy if you can help it. This is a reaching out to community. Be open, but not too expectant. I have learned that just because you share spiritual views with someone, does not mean that you are guaranteed to become bosom buddies. And have fun!  (Wednesday Aug 6 | post #2)
