The list of payoffs that got Reid his cloture vote
I should have caught this sooner. It kinda makes it worse if most Democrats don't even like the Senators they cut deals with. I've said errr written repeatedly to throw them all out. That means all of them! (3 hrs ago | post #32)
Attempted terrorist attack on int’l Northwest flight
Bush has been out of office since January. I have no idea why they would continue to want to keep attacking us both domestic and foreign. 2 or 3 a year is not a track record I want to continue. (5 hrs ago | post #9)
The list of payoffs that got Reid his cloture vote
At least one side is trying to prevent future buying of votes, which shouldn't be cool with anybody. Democrats are fine with buying votes? Wow! Can you imagine if the Republicans pulled anything this dirty when they had majority? (5 hrs ago | post #30)
The Right-Wing Block-And-Blame Game
Are you guys putting Enron on Bush now? That's a new one. We aren't supposed to tie Obama to ACORN but you're trying this? Very laughable stuff. (5 hrs ago | post #81)
Attempted terrorist attack on int’l Northwest flight
I think there are 100+ new bureaucracies in the Senate bill they passed.......now that's scary. That's not the kind of Change I was Hoping for. (5 hrs ago | post #8)
You didn't know the majority of the people who voted had never seen the bill they were voting on? That sounds secret to me. (6 hrs ago | post #29)
I do have to admit I didn't look at the whole page. However, since I have now I must point out that it compares the house version to the Senate version unveiled Nov 18th. That version is nothing like the version which was passed on December 24th after all the backroom deals and payoffs I've listed in the other thread. Let's also note the first portion of this information stating: This article's Criticism or Controversy section(s) may mean the article does not present a neutral point of view of the subject. It may be better to integrate the material in those sections into the article as a whole. This article or section may be slanted towards recent events. Please try to keep recent events in historical perspective. (6 hrs ago | post #28)
That's the House version. I was talking about the Senate version that they were working on in secret. They weren't even debating the real bill. (8 hrs ago | post #20)
Top Ten Reasons To Stop The ACLU

Attempted terrorist attack on int’l Northwest flight
Hopefully we will get a statement from President Obama. I'm sure after his customary shout outs we'll get some idea of whats going on. (10 hrs ago | post #5)
Top Ten Reasons To Stop The ACLU
#4. The ACLU Opposes National Security. The ACLU have opposed almost every effort in the arena of national security. From the bird flu to bag searches, the ACLU have been against it. No matter what kind of search someone tries to do to protect people, the ACLU have proved they are against them across the board. Its kind of ironic that they don’t practice the principles they preach. Take a walk into the NYCLU’s Manhattan headquarters – which it shares with other organizations – and you’ll find a sign warning visitors that all bags are subject to search. #3. The ACLU Defend the enemy. They have a long history of this one. They defended the P.L.O. in 1985. They defended Quadafi in the 1980’s. And they continue today. They have told Gitmo detainees they have the right to remain silent, as in not talking to interrogators. One issue that really disturbs me is their refusal of funds from organizations such as the United Way that were concerned the money would be used to support terrorism. In October of 2004, the ACLU turned down $1.15 million in funding from two of it’s most generous and loyal contributors, the Ford and Rockefeller foundations, saying new anti-terrorism restrictions demanded by the institutions make it unable to accept their funds. “The Ford Foundation now bars recipients of its funds from engaging in any activity that “promotes violence, terrorism, bigotry, or the destruction of any state.” The Rockefeller Foundation’s provisions state that recipients of its funds may not “directly or indirectly engage in, promote, or support other organizations or individuals who engage in or promote terrorist activity.” (11 hrs ago | post #3)
