If you are against guns then do not buy one, do shoot one, do not touch one. But do not try to violate my right to buy one, shoot one, etc. I do not like the tiny death trap "smart" cars but I will never try to violate someone's right to own one.  (16 hrs ago | post #33548)

Colorado Springs is a very nice place to live, but just like any other mid-sized city there are certain areas more prone to crime than others. Whenever there is a violent crime it always seems to center around the same neighborhoods. Being aware of your surroundings and having the ability to defend yourself is the key to avoid being a victim. Cowardly criminals look for "soft" targets and will always attack someone who looks like a victim in-lieu of someone who looks like a potential problem.  (Thursday Nov 5 | post #19)

Why are anti-gun liberals always trying to take away my right to own a gun? Restrictive gun laws have only increased the violent crime rates in Chicago, Detroit, Los Angeles, Oakland, New York, Washington D.C., Philidelphia, etc. Gun bans only take the guns from the law-abiding citizens not the criminals. Strict Gun Control is a failed experiement. The liberals try to say that loose gun laws will only increase violence and make the streets run red with blood yet they cannot provide a single example of this. "I ask sir, who is the militia? Crime happens everywhere, unfortunately. The crime rate in Colorado Springs (with loose gun control laws) is still a lot lower per capita than Chicago, Los Angeles, Detroit, and Washington D.C (which have virtual/total gun bans). A few years ago, in California I believe (not sure), there was a motion by the gay community to have marriage (i.e. tax benefits, company health insurance, spousal rights, etc) extended to non-married gay couples who had been together for a certain amount of time. The motion did not extend those same rights to non-married straight couples, only to the gay/lesbian community. I personally thought that was discriminatory towards straight couples. It is kind of like the gay hate crimes earmark on the Defense Budget that nobama signd into law, after he vowed not to sign any bills with earmarks in them. The Hate Crimes bills offer protection to "minorities " and gays/lesbians but it is very difficult to get a conviction of hate crimes towards Whites without causing protests and/or riots. The leftist media is very selective in covering stories of hate crimes with Whites as the victims. A big Double-Standard if you ask me.  (Friday Oct 30 | post #1405)

The government defines rich as making $250000 or more a year. NObama has made $millions on his books and speaking events, has he given all that money to the poor and the needy? No. When nobama is voted out of office in three years is he going to be living in a shelter? Will his family suffer because he has given all of his substantial wealth to the less fortunate? Not even close. Are any of his cronie "czars" going back to the welfare line when they are declared unConstitutional and sent packing? Not at all. Is nobama going to put his family on the same rationed healthcare plan that he is trying to cram down America's throat, not giving an answer is the same as a "NO"! What's good for the goose is good for the gander? You liberals confuse Greed with ambition. Do you really think that any of the inventions we enjoy today were created out of the goodness of someone's heart? Competition, the want of wealth, prestige, and self preservation is the driving force behind all of mankind's advances. I, for one, love being a soldier, I love being in the Army and being part of a team. Would I do it for free? H-LL NO! Do I think I should have to subsidize the laziness and unambitious? H-LL NO! I really don't care about it one way or the other. If two gays/lebians want to get married, then so be it. Should they receive special rights and/or privileges that straight couples do not receive? No. That right there is one of the biggest problems with America today. These so-called "special groups" not only want equal rights, they want extra rights for being "different " or "special ". They should be held to the same rights, and restrictions, that straight people are held to. Not really pertinent but I thought this was funny. Enjoy. “Tolerant but not stupid!
