Yep, either no smarter than a fifth grade or like a little child who continually asks 'but why' to every answer he is given. And it is not genuine curiosity that motivates the child, but simply a vocabulary limited to two simple words. (6 hrs ago | post #2785)

And yes..in case it matters, my beliefs in this particular matter is the only logical solution for that all people can share the same rights equally..maybe they don't do things like that in new zeland. don't know..and for sure it don't matter...could it be that you choose to post here, where we have free speech, because those who speak as you do are prosecuted..or persecuted? We have freedom of religion in this country, and the common interpretation of those words seems to be 'the religion of your choice' and that includes all religion including mine. And what might happen if the leader of my religion decided that all mormons must live in Utah? But my leader knows that all people have freedom of religion, therefore while he might know for sure that he is right because his invisible friend told him it was true, and he might feel the need to spread the word among his followers....any further action, be it public statements, attempts to persuade other non mormons to adopt his views, either verbal. written or financial is an infringement upon the rights of mormons ..a violation of our constitution. This is known as freedom of religion as long as is remains with the law. To allow something illegal, simple because it is based on religion cannot happen in order for our system to function as it was originally written (11 hrs ago | post #2782)

Gee pahoran...i don't know what language they speak down there in New Zuland But up here in the United States of America the language i used and the information it provided is sufficiently clear that the average 10-11 year old child can understand it..so I guess the real question is: ARE YOU SMARTER THAN A FIFTH GRADER? I don't care, they are your fairy tales, and many people seem to dislike them, for whatever reason, does not matter. Your fairy tails are for your home, your family and your church, and your life. They do not, and likely never will apply to anybody that is not from your world. I do not speak of my fairy tales with people i do not know unless it is part a conversation an is relevant. (which ends up to little more than a compilation of facts that life has taught me) I have no need for quotes from scripture to answer questions or support things i say...my beliefs are mine, and they are a product of me, as opposed to organized religion where people are taught what to believe..i seem to lack that need for guidance. Not frustrated, but i came from a generation where parents were held responsible for the actions of their children and children respected their parents..i would never even think of raising my voice to either of my parents and divorce was never an option for my father or the other 8 of his brothers and sister although they were all raised catholic, none of them are particularly religious. And the government will always try, and sometimes succeed in sticking their nose in the business of private citizens, but that nose, being influenced by any religion in particular is totally objectionable to me. As for your reference to prop 8....a gay lifestyle is a product of being gay...living or teaching that lifestyle will never result in a gay person that would not have been gay otherwise...and many people will argue against that point but i think the future will prove that homosexuality is a genetic thing...and teaching young people that gay people are just people, first and foremost, they did not choose to be gay and it does not diminish the fact that there are just like everybody else..they have the same rights as everybody else and the pursuit of happiness is one of them...as long as it does not infringe upon the rights of others...which just happens to be the same right that religion has. And as far as the mormon churches involvement on the gay issue.... They have no right to even have a public opinion regarding anyone who is not a member of the church. It seems as though mormons and their church have this 'we are the best, our way is the best, try us you will like us, let us jamb of little us us down your throat we are sure you will like us' thing going on, and they just can't see that nobody wants any... And it is really making the church look bad..or worse than it already looked to some people..and for sure, i would not expect you believe or understand that. (15 hrs ago | post #16013)

Finally, in approximately the 39th year of the reign of the judges, or about 53 B.C., Pahoran died, apparently without leaving the judgement Pahoran has died? Then who is dares to use his name? Could it be identity theft? Or just a cheap imposter? I guess when someone feels truly insignificant adopting the name of someone who at least got his name printed in a book might add to one's self esteem, but when people learn of your dastardly deed that feeling of insignificance will surely return.:) (Yesterday | post #2778)

Me 'birdie' ? you have proven nothing more than the limits of your ability to process information. Because i do not pay taxes i am breaking the law and even after i have stated several times that i want nothing to do with your religion, you continue to try to sell to me. And yes, you do have the right to believe whatever you wish, but i believe you tend to make mistakes in the things you choose to believe. You seem to believe i have a need for your church, even after i have stated several times that i was not, in any way, interested. And bet you will continue to believe i am breaking the law because i do not pay taxes, even after i tell you i am retired. Wa Wa Wait a minute. My comment was not a lie, merely my interpenetration of what you post. As far as what church and it's teaching that i follow..there is none. And even though i claim no particular religion i still attempt to live my life in a 'christian like' manner. As far as i am concerned, simply reading a book and paying a fee does not automatically make a person a christian. (Yesterday | post #15987)

Well then you just might be able to understand why those of us who live in 'the rest of the world' get a little pissed when the mormon church sticks it's nose in government. (Yesterday | post #15985)

The facts still blew right on by you: ""I have posted the truth, what I know to be fact"" You have posted what YOU BELIEVE is the truth, you BELIEVE it to be fact. Things do not become fact simply because someone said it or wrote or you choose to BELIEVE it. And it is your right to believe in anything you choose, as long as your beliefs do not infringe upon the rights who do not share your beliefs. And as long as you understand that many people who use logic, commons sense and facts to guide their lives, see those who have the need to believe in believe in something that resides totally in a persons imagination as someone who does not have a total grip on reality.
