20 feet within a intersection

I've seen them w/their measuring tapes too on a street off of Broadway when I was looking for parking for a wake. They are really recently starting to crack down on this. They even repainted the lines on Main Street in West Everett. Across from Carols they have the line on the street tapering in to the curb so if your tire goes over the line you automatically get a ticket. Like you said, you've been parking like that for 20 years, seems like you just got unlucky, though they'll prob. be around more often now. It sucks to enforce that in places like the village where there IS NO parking. Good luck.  (Jul 30, 2012 | post #16)

Police Briefs 07-20-2011

I'm not on here often, but this caught my eye. If you are the Revere Police, and from what I've read you prob are, you might just want to shut up and see who does what here. You might find things out that you may actually be able to use instead of warning the idiots who are stupid enought to make threats that they may actually carry out. Yes, while I know that just making the threat in many instances is a crime in itself, when made on a public site like this one where you are given a level of confidentiality, unless a crime is actually committed following one of these threats, the things posted here ALONE wouldn't stand up in court for anything. Yes, you've got the IP address, but you know as well as I do that anyone could be behind that computer, never mind "floating IP" address. So....... maybe you guys would benefit in the long run from being "INVISIBLE ". Just a thought.  (Jul 28, 2012 | post #33)

Shooting in Everett?

That sucks big time. That's why, no matter who I know anymore, it's just not worth it. You never know who you can trust and who's looking out for themselves. People will do anything to get themselves out of trouble, even condemning someone fairly innocent. The cops prob new what was going down, they had a guy that didn't really deserve the bust, but figured they'd use him to get to the big guy and then when your friend wouldn't rat, they let him do the time as a "punishment' for not being a rat. Sucks big time but good for your friend for being a stand up guy.  (Jul 26, 2012 | post #13)

Ninos Barbership

A strip joint in a barber shop? I'd say he's a great businessman, or at least a smart one, not smart enough not to get caught though... That's what I call "soup to nuts"... :P  (Jul 19, 2012 | post #11)

Stabbing on Harley Ave?

Jeez, me too. My grandmother lived on the next street over and I was ALWAYS at my grandmothers house so I was ALWAYS at the park, alone, from about 6 or so on. I always had friends and stuff there, but no adults. Things were different back then, or at least we thought so. I wouldn't let my son go there until he was about 10 or 11 and he had to be with a group, and I'd STILL be checking on him constantly and THAT was about 15 years ago. I do see teens there sitting at that table when I walk the dog by, but haven't seen any drama. Usually girls waiting for the boys to finish playing basketball. I have no prob with that at all. As long as their not selling drugs I'd rather them be at the park playing basketball 'til midnight than roaming around my neighborhood, being all loud and stupid which happens A LOT. I don't know how old your kids are, but if you took them in the morning you'd prob be o.k. Not too much going on then, lots of mothers with kids. The teens are too hungover to be up that early...lol. They still have those lunches there too. I remember them from when I was a kid. I can't believe they still do that!  (Jul 19, 2012 | post #14)

Stabbing on Harley Ave?

Thanks. Mine was a LONG time ago. Both Mine and my cousins' was def just random, they took things like playstations, laptop, that sort of thing. No money, cause, hey, we have none...lol. The same with the cars. Just rummaging to see what they can get. Prob. looking for GPS etc. My neighbor at that time had left his wallet in the car and it was all over the ground with the money and credit cards missing and everything else literally strewn about the yard like the were emptying it as they ran away. They literaly hit almost all the driveways/cars on the street and the next street that they felt safe to hit I guess, so if was def. random. We have always had a dog, different one when that happened than now. I honestly don't remember if we were out with the dog or if it was in a very short in between period where one had died and we hadn't gotten the next one yet. Taking my dog? That would be a VERY bad idea. We have cameras up now around the property anyway, but my sons all grown up and gone, so my dog is my baby, I will literaly hunt them down and severly hurt them. I know it sounds stupid, but hey, no one else in the house is happy to see you when you walk in the door at the end of a hard day...lol. My husband certainly isn't sitting there wagging his tail :P . They get to be like part of the family. Plus she's pretty darn smart and comical. The dog I have now is often described as "a 3 year old in a dog suit". Lots of fun and high energy, very friendly but I certainly wouldn't want to be robbing the house with her in it. She is VERY protective of us and her property. Which I'm happy about. I don't really worry about it anymore between the dog and the cameras and between the upstairs and down, someone is always home now so I feel much safer, and again, there's nothing left to steal unless they want a 4 year old computer, not even a laptop...lol. Good luck to them. Is your area safe?  (Jul 19, 2012 | post #13)

Shooting in Everett?

LMAO Not Fair....Eaten by racoons??? What on earth are you smoking? Or should I say, what FROM earth? K, I live right around Bradford St. What number was this supposed to have happened on and when. I have to agree w/nowwhat on this one. To How... Exactly How. Did you see the movie "My Idiot Brother"? The cop comes up to the guy at the farmers market asking if he knows where he could get some pot. The guy says "like I'd tell you if I knew". The cop is all sheepish, "oh, yeah, sorry, just have had a bad time of it lately" all playing on his compassion. They guy feels bad (idiot) helps him out for free, wants no money. The cop INSISTS, saying he will feel bad, won't be able to enjoy it or relax. So he takes some money and "oh, by the way you're under arrest". Yeah, it's a movie, yes, it's stupid, but that is what we're getting at. They have the green light to lie, lie, lie. Supposedly for the "greater good", right? Who's greater good. once you start down that road, there's no turning back. It's all defiled. No trust anywhere anymore. It's a sad situation.  (Jul 19, 2012 | post #11)

Stabbing on Harley Ave?

I live the next street over. I walk my dog by there on occasion, but honestly, I am NEVER in Everett. I always take a right off of my street and go through Malden to get anywhere. I HATE Everett Sq./Broadway/Glend ale Sq., the traffic can be terrible. I'm so close to Malden, I work in Medford, I just take back roads everywhere. In the morning I do see mom's with kids there now that school is out. At night there are usually a few kids playing basketball. I'm not saying that it's a great park, because like I said, I am rarely over that way, but personally I haven't seen any problems. The neighborhood now, that's different. I literally grew up here. We used to NEVER lock our back doors. In the past 10 years I've been robbed, my cousin who lives next door was robbed broad daylight a year ago, saw him with my own eyes but he was gone before I could stop him. There was a period that all of our cars in the driveways around here were broken into and my mother just informed me that her car was just broken into in her driveway (she lives a couple street down from me). Kipo's has been robbed a few times, the house on the corner was robbed recently. It is freakin' crazy!  (Jul 9, 2012 | post #10)

Shooting in Everett?

Thank you surewas, at least that's a bit more confirmation. Roxbury, that's exactly why I came on here. If we didn't hear about it yet I doubt they'd print it in any of the local papers. The shooter was prob. a family member of someone important. If they print anything at all it'll prob. be a small notation in the police log. Neighbor.... Water's Ave. Projects? Since when? K, I know I don't keep up as I should, but I haven't heard anything about that. What are they going to put them at the bottom of Waters Ave where all that chemical and quarantined soil is? Nice. Reality, ain't the truth... I actually do know a cop (detective actually, don't know if that makes a dif). One that I have known since we were kids. I'm not big on police, I just don't trust them. Even those who joined because they truly want to help (not for the power trip) if they were put into a situ where they had to choose btw a civilian and a "brother " they would help the brother even if they had to lie. The detective I grew up with though is one person whom I trust and respect without question. I have never met any person who doesn't like this guy, civilian or blue. I don't see him often, but I'm going to look into it, just out of curiousity. I like to know how bad my city is getting and why this crap isn't printed. Thanks guys for getting back to me. If I hear anything true I'll get back to you.  (Jul 9, 2012 | post #6)

Shooting in Everett?

I just came back from N.H. and another masshole up there said that before she came up there was, what she thought to be a shooting up around Tedeschi's on Main St. in Everett. It would prob. be Thu. or Fri. night, maybe earlier, I didn't ask her when she arrived. She stated she heard a loud bang and thought it was fireworks but when she looked out she saw a guy stumbling down the street clutching his gut, and then right after there were police everywhere. I haven't been around, I was up in VT and then NH, so I haven't seen the news nor have I heard anything else about it. Anyone hear anything or was she celebrating the 4th a bit too hard?  (Jul 8, 2012 | post #1)

A head banger?...lol. Not really. I didn't really have a group, I just hung around with two other girls. One was a goody two shoes but lots of goofy fun, the other was, like me, a bit of a pot head. We weren't head bangers, drama or choir, athletes, popular girls, cheerleaders, goth or anything else. We just went to school, did our work, got our diplopmas and moved on. Did you go to EHS?  (Jul 8, 2012 | post #8)

Should the City enact an ordinance requiring shoveling?

We all pitch in and make sure your property is shoveled, but what about the city? I walked by swan street part three days after the storm and the three sidewalks running around the park were still completely unshoveled. Doesn't the city have a responsibility to shovel city property?  (Jan 5, 2011 | post #15)

Stabbing on Harley Ave?

Wow. I had no idea. I've lived on that street, one way or another, for my entire life. I can NOT believe that. I agree Everett, I certainly was no angel and I've said stuff as a younger person to my mom that I truly regret, (and I paid for it), but to resort to violence in that degree against your own parents. Unless it was in self defense, that's just crazy. Thanks for getting back to me.  (Jan 1, 2011 | post #5)

Stabbing on Harley Ave?

Any idea what went on New Years Eve on Harley Avenue? The police said there was "almost a stabbing". Did the people involved live on Harley? Did they make an arrest? Was someone actually stabbed or was it a threat. Thanks for any info. Good night and Happy New Year!  (Dec 31, 2010 | post #1)
