Believe it or not Coffeyville was a great place back in the 50's-60's. Teahcers could still whip your ass if you acted out and then parents worked you over too. The teachers cared, the parents cared, I lived down on 16th and Willow and we could run home from the pool hall (Cottage Rec, next to the post office east) in the rain and might get a drop or two due to all the Elm trees shrouding the street. If you know Elmwood cemetary we played baseball 7-10 hours a day there every summer. The neighborhood was nothing but boys for blocks in every direction, minus abouit 4 girls and we'd have these bike races from 16th and Willow up to 15th, over to Spruce, back to 16th and then north again about 50 laps!! Wrecks, pile ups and fights every week. A guy named Wayne McCausland, also Jerry Wallace (on the city council in Cherryvale now) rode our bikes from the south end of Coffeyville to Liberty one summer day and then came back on the NEW 169! Yep, it was a great life for kids back then. When Mom died 3 years ago two of my old buddies from the neighborhood were among the few that showed up for the funeral. I'll bury my bone if you wanna send your momma over. I left Caney due to going to an auction here in Osage County, not even knowing the house was for sale and got it very cheap. Awesome brick house, 3 bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths, 2 1/2 car garage, 2 car carport and a work shop all on an acre with a view I can't describe and best of all NO WHERE I look is a trashed out house like in caney, everyone MOWS here has NO JUNK CARS here, keeps their place painted and clean and taxes are $675 a year and we're only 5 miles from Bartlesville. Greener it matter to them because I had the audacity to not recognize some of them as "important ". They though connections and friendships could get them out of driving on sidewalks, speeding on the main street, driving drunk, smoking dope and well, you get the idea. Oh yes, in response to your ignorance of all matters. When we got our own cars my seat never needed replaced. Another officer in the car rotation had this habit of planting his feet on the floor and rearing back HARD on the seat when he was wearing his coat in the winter. They replaced his even after we got our own cars.............but in true Rick Pell fan club tradition, the truth matters not. Only the BS slinging. My offer still goes. Dispatcher who turned me on? HAHAHAHAHA! Obviously you don't KNOW any of them or ever met my wife. The porn by the way was in the dispatch area and as I seem to have heard the Chief's office. That doesn't count though, those people are exempt in that town! Hell the taxpayers there spent hundreds of dollars over the careers of two employees in long distance calls to north of Dearing and Coffeyville to wake the "employee " up to get to work. Define "harrass ", you wouldn't own a local store there would you? You wouldn't be drunk a lot would you? Define "normal" when it comes to Caney? There are quite a number of you who have never been anywhere, done anything yet you have all the answers to the world's problems. If so, improve Caney'/s real estate market and LISTEN to the snickers all around this are. You mention no names as to what offender so obviously you're grand standing. Was it an offender who just struck me or another officer? If so YOU show them compassion. Name one who ever bowed down and "kissed my shoes", you're a lottle bit of a drama queen aren't you? I can think of one incident you recall. I had a momentaly lapse of common sense that most people in and of Caney have no sense if humor. R.H.s truck was there, I assumed he was. I didn't know until that night that his ex-wife is a nut case. As for scaring the kids, no intent there. Get a life. At least I am on here as me, now man up bitch and say who you are.
