Palinophobes Hate First, Ask Questions Later
I don't need to ask any questions. Katie Couric asked plenty enough for me to get an understanding of how dumb Palin is. Katie asked about the Bush Administration's BAIL OUT planthere are more, you can find select transcript here: http://en.wikipedi a.org/wiki/Sarah_P alin_interviews_wi th_Katie_Couric (12 hrs ago | post #45)

Maine Voters Reject Gay Marriage
yup, just like how slaves kept trying to escape from the plantations, and the bossman kept saying "no", and them darn negros didn't understand that they weren't equal! LOL. All people are equal, and deserve equal treatment under the law. Just becuase you're trapped in the 1800s, doesn't mean the rest of us are. How many states opposed the abolition of slavery? Did that make them right? No. (13 hrs ago | post #2243)

good luck with that in a world where people are foaming at the mouth when they catch rumors of a mandatory swine flu vaccination. the best the governement can do is require that all people on their healthcare system get a vasectomy. Possibly anyone that wishes to use their hospitals, or they could charge a large tax if you don't do it, but they can't strap you down and snip your lines without your permission. One-Third of Teens Aged 16, 17 Text While Driving: Study
dude, if engineers had to know how to spell, there wouldn't be any of us. 800 math, 590 verbal... sue me for not caring about grammar or spelling, its not exactly part of my job decription. It would be hilarious to me if you woke up in a hospital and found out some conservative teenage hit you because they were texting about sarah palin. What doesn't make sense to you there? Ten-year-old Won't Recite Pledge Until Gays Can Marry
but if a person is denied their driver's license because of their gender, it is still discrimination and a violation of their "right to obtain a driver's license after passing all required tests and residency requirements" . While that isn't really a "right" as we know it, it sort of is. The constitution doesn't guarantee that right, but we shouldn't ignore it being infringed based solely on gender. and when people respond to your hypoerbole, you get all pissed off. If you weren't posting it to just get a reaction, why post it at all. also, this isn't flamey enough for me... I hope you get hit by a teenager that's texting while driving, and when they look up the phone records, the last text says "OMG i just got sarah palin's new book. i cant w8 to read it LOL". That would be nice and ironic. (Thursday Nov 19 | post #20)

nope. history is just a tool that can be manipulated by people to prove their points. Example: Based on civilizations and the percentage of time that the leadership did not openly reject using human slaves for labor, approximately 90% of the world has believed it is okay to own fellow human beings. But I don't get where you were going to go with it, so I'll say "Yes" if you'll get to the point. (Thursday Nov 19 | post #4528)
Maine Voters Reject Gay Marriage
True, states were given the power to decide their own rules for marriageI think it's just the first thing. Until you reach a certain age, you don't have the capacity to understand the full range of consequences of your actions. While this age varies for each individual, we simply set an age that meets the average value, rather than establish a psychological exam. While we have limits on sex by age, it is really just the age difference between the two. Two kids that are 13 are within the law to have sex, but not to marry. And a person that is 21 can't have sex with someone that is 13, as that is statutory rape (taking advantage of a minor that doesn't have the capacity to know the consequences of their actions while the older person should know betterWhile this is a valid concern (gene pool), it is not the logic behind the law. There are kinships between people in an immediate family that cannot be superceded by marriage. Siblings, parent/child, etc... pretty much any blood relative or adopted relativeIt has nothing to do with being a Chirstian nation, because technically we aren't one. Social problems, I believe that. The fact is that when you sign your marriage contract you are establishing 'next of kin' with the person you are marrying until one of you dies (or you get divorced). One thing that invalidates that contract is if either of you is already married. You would have too many legal issues if anyone was joined to multiple poeple in marriage, because you could have an odd chain of spouses, and nearly everyone would be next of kin for everyone. It's not controllable. Imagine if Kevin Bacon died, the entire world would be within 5 degrees of marriage to be his next of kin. :PThat one doesn't make any sense to me. Since the ability to procreate isn't regulated into marriage, and neither is the responsibility to contribute to society once you are married, there doesn't seem to be a legal reason to say same-sex marriage doesn't benefit society. As long as they are both of age to consent, aren't in an established kinship, and are only marrying one person, they do not cause any more chaos than an opposite-sex marriage does. And while a same-sex couple doesn't offer the ability to spontaneously procreate, they do offer the ability to raise children. Even moreso, they do not negatively impact society's perpetuation any more than a person that chooses not to marry or to remain celebate. If that is the reason to forbid same-sex marriage, might as well ban catholic priests. Heck, might as well require everyone to marry by a certain age, lest they remain unmarried at death.
