Bad Newz: Where violence, Vick and football meet

I agree with you. While working for the government I saw many professional, hard-working, honest black employees. However, you had the lazy, ignorant, constantly complaining blacks who filed EEO cases each and every time they were denied promotion bacause a deserving white person got the job. These are the ones that give the majority of blacks a bad rap. These are the blacks that need to stop playing the "victim" card and be productive members of society instead of blaming white society for their own lack of success. There are so many successful black people the old "discriminati on" argument no longer has any real credibility except in a few isolated cases. You're right. We need to discuss it openly and honestly.  (1 hr ago | post #31)

What stereotyping is done here? There have been several innocent, black children killed in this area by other blacks who were shooting for whatever reason. That is not a stereotyping, that is a fact. In these cases though the black community did not "close ranks" to cover up the crimes because most of them are disgusted with these criminal acts themselves. It is also a fact that these crimes previously were carried out in predominantly black neighborhoods. However, they are becoming more prevalent in other neighborhoods as well. There is nothing stupid in stating facts. So where is the stupidity and stereotyping?  (1 hr ago | post #30)

I didn't participate in any marches. They were done in cities too far away from my little town. But I remember segregated schools and the first time my children went to an integrated school. I can't help but wonder how many of the people on this forum whining about slavery would have had the guts to do what Rosa Parks did. These people here don't have a clue what their ancestors went through but they sure complain about it a lot.  (19 hrs ago | post #23)

I think you're right Jennifer. It really tweaks my last nerve when, once again, somebody who wasn't even around during those chaotic, civil rights marches, slavery, etc., feel they can use what happened "way back when" as an excuse for everything. These people set civil rights back at least 50 years.  (21 hrs ago | post #20)

'Dogtown' puts Georgia on minds of TV critics

Whaddaya mean black people are more forgiving than whites? I'm white and I've already forgiven YOU for talking like a dumbass. See?  (Yesterday | post #23)

Bad Newz: Where violence, Vick and football meet

I'm tired of paying for illegitimate kids being born to uneducated young girls who just keep popping them out one after the other. I'm tired of paying for the upkeep and building of prisons to house those who keep right on breaking the law knowing they can go to jail for their behavior. I'm tired of the whacked out potheads, drug addicts and alcoholics that destroy every neighborhood they live in. I'm tired of people like you scraping the bottom of a cesspool to find an excuse to justify what Vick did to those dogs. I'm tired of hearing idiotic comparison of sadistic animal abuse to war, abortion, child abuse, hunting and whatever else you can think of to absolve Michael Vick of his crime. I don't care what you bring up in comparison, the fact is, we are on the MICHAEL VICK forum. You want to gripe about those other things, go to the right forum. Here, its about MICHAEL VICK. You make me tired.  (Yesterday | post #16)

Michael Vick Seeks Bankruptcy Protection After Dogfighting Ring...

Wrong on all accounts. I'm through playing with you little boy/girl. Go find somebody else to insult. You really need to quit smoking weed and fondling yourself because you obviously are not only nuts, you're going blind too.  (Yesterday | post #94)

You're going to jail because that's where ignorant, uneducated, smartmouth, weedheads usually end up. Since you're not smart enough to write anything intelligent I expect you're too dumb to pay attention to your education. So you probably will have a short career in drug dealing then, either get caught or shot to death over a drug deal. Go to bed kid and sleep it off. Keep your hands off your whacker too. It's making you crazy.  (Yesterday | post #90)

REALITY-HorseSlaughter and MEAT OK! Livestock USE OK! PETA Is What's Wrong

We all know the reality and it sucks. We humans have been meat eaters since Adam and Eve were kicked out of the Garden of Eden and forced to fend for themselves. As much as I would love to see and end to all animal slaughter and abuse, I am realistic enough to know it probably will not happen in my lifetime. We have depended upon meat for food for so long that changing our ways suddenly would create havoc in our animal world. If hunting deer were suddenly banned, the deer would give out of food and starve to death. If the slaughter of horses that are no longer useful were suddenly banned, many horses would be neglected, abused and left to starve to death. And so on and so on. The fact is there is no easy solution. PETA's goals may be honorable but unrealistic. I would prefer seeing them fight for humane living conditions for those animals raised for human consumption followed by fighting to ascertain more humane methods of killing these animals. They cannot force the majority of people to suddenly resort to a vegetarian diet. Even if that could be accomplished the ensuing problem of what to do with all those animals would be a gigantic problem resulting in even more misery being piled upon these unfortunate creatures. PETA needs to offer realistic solutions if they want to be credible. I learned, while working for the government, that we should not complain unless we can offer a workable solution to the problems we complain about. Makes sense to me.  (Yesterday | post #46)

Dogfighting

Think about what? Dogfighting? I would never profess knowing what God might think about anything. We are given the free will to do good or evil. Some choose evil and they suffer the consequences. Those consequences are varied and depend upon the evil that is done. If the evil is illegal, like dogfighting, the evildoer pays with loss of freedom and income. The consequences for evil are as varied and vast as the individuals who choose the evil path. Other than that, I don't know what God would think other than to believe He would not condone the torture and abuse of one of His creations.  (Yesterday | post #6981)

Dogfighting

Gee! Where do you suppose their "culture " comes from? I don't believe it came from Africa because I haven't heard of Africans treating their families like that.  (Yesterday | post #6979)

Verizon Pit-Bull Ad Unleashes Flurry of Complaints

I saw that ad on TV a couple of days ago. Although I am rarely judgmental on commercials of any type, this one definitely made me uncomfortable. I didn't like the use of pit bulls simply because they get a bad rap already. This commercial does nothing to prove anything differently about the breed. I'm afraid the damage has already been done. This type of thing just provided verification to those who believe the pit bull should be banned.  (Yesterday | post #2)

'Dogtown' puts Georgia on minds of TV critics

Justice has always been and probably always will be unfairly meted out in many cases. But in my opinion the holocaust was worse than slavery in many ways. It only ended with WWII ended it about 55 years ago. Yet, you don't see the Jews crying the blues and blaming everyone in society for the evil their ancestors endured. It is also true that many blacks still suffer injustices and unfair treatment just for being black. But at least there are now laws in place that has provided a huge degree of protection from discrimination. How you would think Vick is a victim of discrimination is beyond me. How was it discrimination when he was drafted into the NFL by WHITE owners then paid millions to play football? Nobody tried to keep him out of their neighborhood, or treated him badly, or turned him away from hotels, restaurants, etc. because he was black. Instead he was worshipped, and adored by blacks and whites alike. So where was the discrimination? Why is it discrimination when he gets caught and punished for a crime, but not discrimination prior to this? People say blacks have a chip on their shoulder because you like to use the word "discriminati on" only when things don't go your way ALL the time. You cannot have it both ways with somebody like Vick. If he wasn't a victim of discrimination before he got caught committing crimes, he sure as hell isn't a victim just because he went to jail for it.  (Tuesday | post #19)

Trial date set in Sept. for Vick co-defendant

You make me sick. My father, or grandfather never used dogs to hunt anything. And, nobody in YOUR immediate family was ever hunted by dogs either. But your hero, Michael Vick bred and used dogs to hunt and kill each other. Then, if they didn't fight well enough, he tortured and killed them. What happened to civil rights demonstrators has nothing to do with Michael Vick. The white man did not make him disobey the law but the white man put in in a position of making money, having fame and adoration, and many other things that he snubbed his nose at in order to continue his low life dogfighting activity. There are evil people in all races including the black race. If you can't see that then may God have mercy on YOUR soul. Anyone who has no compassion for animals probably has no compassion for humans. Compassion and empathy are not something one can use selectively. You either have it, or you don't. Michael Vick does not. Go misquote your Bible elsewhere.  (Tuesday | post #21)

YOU leave him alone! Nobody here is messing with him. We didn't put him in jail and we can't get him out. But we CAN and WILL voice our opinions about how we feel regarding his sadistic, narcissistic personality that caused him to believe he was above the law and could get by with doing as he pleased. We will do this just as long as we please. If you don't like the opinions you read here, feel free to voice your own. We will argue with you, disagree or agree with you and maybe even get mad enough to call a few names. But, we will discuss it as long as we please. If you don't want to participate in the discussion.....LEAVE.  (Tuesday | post #20)
