I am going to go with the thought that yes he did mean to kill the guy because more than one witness account says there were multiple shots before the shootout with the police and two the news has reported that the victim died of multiple gunshot wounds. I have found, especially this year with the kicker we have, that there is no way of trying to even guess what any numbers will be so I have avoided any ball boards as of late. What reason is there to indentify the race of a perp that is in custody? I do not need to know that info unless he/she is on the loose and I need a way of identifying them. Simple. Let it be for statistics sake not for your campaign against whatever it is you hate. (17 hrs ago | post #3)

Understood but I think the main focus here is not one's opinion itself but the way it is presented. For example I can type out that I hate spiders without calling them everything but what they are. There is no room for anything vile and unnecessary here. Like I said we are completely unaware of who comes here and when. We need to be consciencious of our words and be gentle with them because of that. I would not want my 13 yr old son or 10 yr old daughter coming in here and reading some of what has been posted about certain types of people and/or certain situations. It just isn't appropriate. There is no way to control the age of the traffic that comes onto topix so we cannot guarantee who is reading the things written is over 18. I do not think that is censorship I think that is being aware as a society of others and helping to raise a more appropriate generation so everything hopefully will not continue to go to hell in a handbasket as it is now. We can't change who is currently out there in the world but we can help mold who is going to be out there leading the way in the future. Reading some of what DDan and the "Madison Troll" has written is not going to lead our youth in the right direction, if anything it is going to feed the hate that is currently there. ANON - Thanks for posting this...very informative. To put a bit of ease to you I don't think those numbers are definate. I think that may be a ballpark they are going off of, like I said I know a woman who was on the patch and has settled. It is well over the amounts listed. As much as I think freedom of speech is a wonderful think I think we as adults need to be mindful that topix is a forum for all ages. We need to be sure not to include things that little eyes can see that we wouldn't want our own children to see. I myself have been guilty in the past of posting responses that are less than desireable I admit but as of late I have tried to be more aware of what I type and what others will read.
