Cops and Courts: Aug. 18, 2008

Sphincter Boy must agree.... Most of the crime reported by the Santa Cruz Sentinel is by Mexicans. I just don't believe that means that ALL Mexicans are a) illegal and/or b) criminals. It would be interesting to find out what percentage of our area's population is Mexican and see if this number is represented by the crime in this county perpetrated by Mexicans. Just like the most common color of car that is caught for speeding is black. That is not to say that all black cars speed, just that there are more black cars than other colors.  (Aug 18, 2008 | post #50)

Ok, so now who is the jerk weed? Dude, have even read any of my other posts? How is your ranting and raving making our community better? And you want to come into my living room and shoot me? Tell me again how all of your proposals are going to make the community better. Listen dirt bag, if you want to disagree with me, fine, you want to call me names, ok. If you want to threaten me with deadly force, well john wayne, that's is something different. Terrorist threats are a felony jerk weed, look it up.  (Aug 18, 2008 | post #46)

Olympic Summer Games

China gold medal gymnast reportedly was 13

Seems pretty simple to me, there are rules that everybody has to follow except the Chinese, who make their own rules. Just don't give them driver's licenses, that's all we need: 13 year old asian drivers.  (Aug 15, 2008 | post #350)

Seabright neighborhood comes together to handle drunken crime

That's right, the job requirements for becoming an idiot are so basic that anybody can qualify. Many years ago I went on a ride-a-long with the SCPD. A favorite spot was to wait just up from the driveway to the brewery. Worked every time. Since our community is paying for the increased policing of the area, seems only fair that the brewery owner kick in his share.  (Aug 15, 2008 | post #4)

Man arrested on suspicion of running ID factory in Watsonville

Dave, Just because we have different viewpoints doesn't mean you have to insult me. I am talking about the Mexican people that are already in this country, in fact no where in the original article or my post(s) did I talk about opening the borders to let everyone in. No my friend, that is your fear talking to you. I believe that if you want to come to this great country of ours, you need to follow the rules. The fact remains that there are people living in this country illegally, so the question is what to do with them. One solution that is promoted on these blogs is to round them all up and deport them. If you stop and think about how much work is performed and how tightly integrated these people are in our society, you might see why this is a bad idea. You have already read my solution in my original post. The fact remains, they are here, get used to it.  (Aug 14, 2008 | post #48)

Target proposal at center of Scotts Valley council race

I can understand the folks in Scotts Valley not wanting a big box Target in their backyard, but frankly it all sounds like a day late and dollar short. Let's see, you've got a Wallgreens, Longs, K-Mart, Peets, Starbucks, Nob Hill...I know I'm leaving some out, and now you're crying about a Target? I can understand if there was some sort of city culture that was being trodden upon, but since SV is not going forward with the town center (removal of propane tanks the problem) what's the big deal? Is it traffic? I'm sure Scotts Valleyians that are against it have a valid argument. I personally would enjoy not having to drive over the hill or to Watsonville to shop at Target. From what I hear a lot of other people feel the same way. So think of all the money you'll be making, maybe enough to create that town center.  (Aug 14, 2008 | post #3)

Whatever moron.... I'm sure the Sentinel crime blog represents all Mexicans. You idiot, I swear to God hope that just because I'm on the Sentinel blog I am somehow pidgeon holed with your ignorant, prejudice race.  (Aug 13, 2008 | post #20)

The really stupid thing is that these poor folks should just be able to get REAL ID's, SS cards etc. And before any of you Mexican haters can give me a hard time, let me tell you that by in large the pan handling trash bags downtown are not Mexicans. And they're not in that welfare line either, they are hard at work making money for their families. They are paying into the system but will never be able to get social security, workman's comp or unemployment insurance. Just because their SS# is bogus doesn't mean the US gives their contribution back. Quit giving the Mexicans a hard time, they are not the problem.  (Aug 13, 2008 | post #8)
