Best table service at El Sombrero, am or pm?

Why would you think you would not be welcome? Everybody is welcome at El Sombrero. Yummy tacos and queso. Sit at Wanda's table. She rocks. You can sit at my table if I'm there when you are.  (Tuesday Sep 30 | post #93)

Remember that song / commercial about the Frito Bandito? Aye, yai, yai, yai. I am the Frit-o Ban-di-to. Give me Fri-to's corn chips and I'll be your friend. The Fri-to Ban-di-to you must not o-ffend. Come on... sign along!  (Monday Sep 22 | post #90)

3 Claycomo Officials Relieved Of Duties

Well actually, I made that post on Oct 17, 2007... almost a year ago. I'll bet if you check the weather in Kansas City that week, you'll see that we had rain. Unless I'm mistaken, global warming continues with or without rain in Kansas City. ;o)  (Monday Sep 22 | post #209)

At TacoBell what is the mystery meat?

I just got back from Paris for the past two weeks. No Taco Bell's to be found over there. They did have a KFC and McDonald's. I figured I could get that once back home, so I enjoyed the local food instead. Very very tasty. They have Coke, but no Pepsi. They serve Coke with a lemon wedge, luke warm. I would have killed for some ice cubes.  (Monday Sep 22 | post #24)

Welcome to Claycomo, Walgreen's

I still have some of those old snapshots from the photo booth at Grants. What great memories. Do you remember the fish downstairs at TG&Y or the penny candy counter upstairs? Where did you go to gradeschool? I went to Lakewood.  (Aug 10, 2008 | post #67)

Emerging Technology

More than 40 million identities at risk

Where are their Sarbanes-Oxley IT controls? Check out SEC.gov and you'll see that these companies all claim that their internal controls are effectively in place and their public accounting companies, as well as, their CFO's and CEO's have attested to those controls being in place. As a SOX IT Auditor we expose these holes in networks everyday and everyday we are ignored by internal staff, public accounting firms, CFO's, Controllers, etc. Why isn't the PCAOB investigating, as well. I can give you a list of other public companies they could have hacked into who also have big fat holes in their networks. Whistle Blower? Yep, I've done that, too. That's a joke! Audit Committee's don't listen, the PCAOB doesn't listen. I bet even after this, they won't fix their networks.  (Aug 6, 2008 | post #1)

I'm so sorry. I've been a little swamped. My father suffered a stroke on April 14 and is on Hospice. I'm his Primary Caregiver. Believe me, that's a job like no other. You feel blessed to be able to take care of your parent, but it surely is a lot of work. Nothing less than a 24/7 full time uncompensated hardest job I've ever had. I've never been so exhausted in my whole life. I did make my way alone to El Sombrero this afternoon and had a nice visit with Impersonator1 while enjoying 4 tacos in a basket with longhorn and a Pepsi. Impersonator1 told me I needed to log on. It was really good to see her smilin face again. And I want to take this opportunity to congratulate her again on her marriage!! I'm so glad to be missed. You're the best! I will say, I had TacoWanda confused with Impersonator1. I thought I knew who TacoWanda was... but I was surely wrong.  (Aug 1, 2008 | post #80)

Gratuities, thanks to a mystery tipper!

Regarding: George Kingfish Stevens A quick search on the Internet for "George Kingfish Stevens" takes you to the Amos 'n' Andy show and a comedian named Harry Roscoe Moore, a.k.a. Tim Moore. http://en.wikipedi a.org/wiki/Tim_Moo re_(comedian) I went to YouTube and watched a couple of Amos 'n' Andy shows. I may be incorrect, but it appears the writing style in Topix used by our George Kingfish Stevens is just staying in character with obviously a loved character and personality. I would guess that our George Kingfish Stevens more than likely shares the same real or screen name or perhaps is related to Harry Roscoe Moore or is just an Amos 'n' Andy devoted fan. Although our George Kingfish Stevens' writing may annoy some, I was curious to know who exactly George "Kingfish " Stevens was. My folks used to watch Amos 'n' Andy and always enjoyed it. Now, I know, too. :o)  (May 4, 2008 | post #50)
